Nobody 'Nobes' What Next?-Even Player Himself!

Mark 'Mr West Ham' Noble's illustrious playing career will come to a close next week at the Amex Stadium in the game against Brighton, having already experienced his 'going away party' in Stratford on Sunday fans can expect more sanguine Noble as the reality kicks in that he will no longer be able to don the claret & blue and strut his stuff for the club that has been central to virtually his entire life.

There has been much talk of 'Nobes' joining the club in an advisory role, player development or recruitment possibly? However it should be remembered that he HAS spent most of his life representing the club and that his wife and young family might well have other ideas.

Few would begrudge Noble a well earned TOTAL break from the game for an extended period, although that said many ex-pro's say they couldn't bare to miss all the banter and relative order of regular training sessions, Mark Noble comes across as a slightly different kettle of fish however.

The Piscatorial reference runs true in that Mark Noble is a keen angler and regularly used to recharge his batteries by doing a spot of night fishing when scheduling allowed, it isn't hard to imagine he might well be availing himself of his overnight tent a lot more in the future.

Noble might also wish to take his family away for an elongated holiday, one in which he CAN play football with his son and eat a bit more than he should! But when the 'fairy tale' of bonus time starts to wane he WILL start to consider his options.

One element that is quite clear is he WON'T return to the club in order to become a mouthpiece for the Board, far from it, rather he would position himself as a 'Guardian' of the club's values lest greed and avarice come calling. Either way we are merely speculating as to the great servants thoughts, as he has already intimated he has absolutely NO concrete idea as to what role, if any, he is going to take up with his boyhood club until he has had a lengthy break with just his family, free of media intrusion and speculation, you know what?

He deserves it, he really does!- LN

I'm really pleased you've done a topic on him guys.

It's weird. I've been a supporter of this great club for 53 years and seen a lot of history from Bobby Moore to a Europa League Semi.

I was lucky enough to meet Nobes back in 2008 he signed my shirt and that was quite early on in his career. But I've never had an affinity or love for a player in all those years than I've had for Mark Noble.

Whether it's because Boogerscaravan Jnr was only 8 years old when Nobes came on the scene and he's now 25 with 2 ankle biters. We both have always loved the loyalty and above all the honesty of Mr West Ham. Even in his latter years when the famous Noble mistimed tackle came in and the inevitable yellow card followed.

Nobody gives a post match interview like Noble, honest true and straight. They truly broke the mould when they made him. Not since Sir Trev have we had such a loyal servant. He deserves all the accolades and tributes he receives.

My history as a supporter is very much within the same timeline and I have to echo every word that you have written.

Mark's tag as Mr West Ham...... CANNOT be challenged by Anyone, as he has never wavered in his Passion, Total Dedication and Commitment to this club. On top of that, he has had to put up with so many miserable periods during his career as a player for us.

I want to state on record that although Dedication and Commitment are always vital words which follow his name, his ability and intelligence as a player has gone under the radar for most. This includes England managers as well as supporters. As far as I'm concerned he was a very intelligent player who could see and create space and make it look effortless. The fact that he was a mainstay over so many years and under all of the managers during those years tells you everything that you need to know about the player.

I am glad that he will be able to enjoy his family life a little better now without the stress that comes with being a player... although West Ham United will never be too far away from his thoughts.
I must admit that I choked up listening to him and as the weight of the occasion sunk in, and it got to me also. I wish Mark and his family a well-earned break without the torturous pre-season on the horizon.

A personal message to the owners which is crucially important is to find a position for Mark and keep him tied to this club. Mark Noble's name carries respect and weight with anything to do with this club.

Mark Noble West Ham Legend, take a bow!

All things must pass... sang George Harrison. Feels a lifetime ago Noble made his debut and established himself as a regular - am I getting old? Are we all getting on? So much has happened and so much changed. I hope he will stay on at fhe club he will be a great role model and mentor. Thanks Mark, not many like you left
