There have been some scurrilous rumours appearing regarding 'Stan the Man' Mavropanos seeking a new club.....absolute rubbish! 'Tino' is more than happy in East London and after a rocky start, has firmly established himself in David Moyes' 1st team.
His Greek heritage may indeed help Hammers secure the services of his compatriot Vangelis Pavlidis. Sky Germany, with whom Tim Steidten has close connections, have indicated that the Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis maybe on the move this summer, with several Bundesliga clubs and Premier League side Brighton in addition to West Ham also interested in his services.
It is estimated that it would require around £15 Million to get the 25-year-old away from AZ Alkmaar. Pavlidis’s impressive goal-scoring record in the Eredivisie makes him a cost effective purchase. OK so it is only the Eredivisie league, but the player certainly knows here the back of the net is!
West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steideten, regards the player highly and in ZE German we trust. Hammers defender Konstantinos Mavropanos shares a close friendship with Pavlidis, which could potentially sway the deal in West Ham’s favour as well.Pavlidis is also well known to The Irons having faced us during last season's European campaign.
Pavlidis currently leads the scoring charts in the Dutch top flight. He has netted 24 goals in 22 games, making him a sought after talent across Europe, but with the sceptre of FFP hanging over a host of clubs he who 'stumps up' wins and maybe Hammers can get this one over the line.- LN

Sounds VERY encouraging!
However, we recently played AZ and I dont recall any particular stand out star. That said, I didnt recall Lucas Paqueta when we played Lyon... guess because he was only a sub :o)
