Swansea vs West Ham preview - Wales Away

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Fri, 16/10/2026 - 14:52

West Ham United are set to take on Swansea City on Saturday at 15:00 where the Hammers will be searching for back-to-back wins to close the gap to the League leaders, Swansea themselves.

The home side currently head into Saturday’s fixture with four victories in a row and looking to make it five, but they’ll have to face Nuno’s confident team who put six past nine-man Lincoln City. Should West Ham secure victory tomorrow it will place Nuno’s side within a single point of Swansea and could boost ourselves up to second place depending on Middlesbrough’s result against Cardiff.

Regarding the team news, it appears that the Hammers have no new injuries and rotations will only occur due to wanting to preserve the team. It’s important to note that West Ham don’t play midweek for the remainder of October; therefore scheduling should be in our favour.

Nuno Espírito Santo opted to go for the 4-4-2 against Lincoln City, and it was simply superb. That of course was helped by the dismissal of two Lincoln players, however, the team worked well in the positions they could and certainly worked better in transition compared to the attempted 4-3-3 in previous results.

For Swansea, starting fullback, Filip Lissah is suspended due to accumulating five yellow cards and summer signing, Stephen Eustáquio is out with a shoulder injury and Joshua Key is also expected to be out.

In terms of the officials, the Hammers seem to have gotten away with the Kitchen antics midweek and this time will be officiated by Josh Smith. The Englishman officiated West Ham’s away outing in the first game of the season against Burnley.

Swansea City will be the first of three crucial fixtures in a row with the remaining two of the month both being at home and against West Brom and Southampton.

He cannot help himself and i am sure he will go with a defensive attitude into this game and we could well pay the price for it.
Squeezing Soucek into midfield last Friday killed the Engels Mukasa partnership which was showing much promise and also skewed the teams pattern with Solomon in particular looking well off the pace and because of Souceks goals in midweek i have a feeling Nuno will start him.

Soucek is a Hammer who puts his body on the line for the cause and puts in 100% effort every time he plays but starting games for me is no longer a thought he is an impact sub and he certainly knows how to impact! we all know put the ball into the box and Souceks their but starting games well lets face it the team slows down so much when he does start.

Nuno has to stop fearing opposition at this level and remember we are the big boys in this league not Wolves Not Boro Not Southampton no it is us so it is about time he sent the players out with that mindset and play from the off not just the second half of games....Respect your opponents by all means but show them why we should be feared.

So lets put these sheep shaggers in their place they are confident they have had a good run of results but let them step into the path of the Juggernaut that is West Ham and rip them a new one that will instill even more fear in the teams to follow.
