When I joined this site late last year, I started a discussion about Antonio and how much I wanted to see him get some game time, so I thought I'd follow it up with another thread.
Since he got his break into first team action due to Moses's injury, he has improved with each and every game. Puts in a great shift and works tirelessly. He has gained confidence and he is now showing why we paid £7 mill for him. Yes, he steams in, yes he loses control of the ball occasionally, but he is a big man and scares the opposition with his pace and power. He's become a very important member of the team now in my opinion and Mr Moses will find it very hard to dislodge him. He has steppeed up and grabbed his opportunity with both hands and deserves as much praise as Dimitri. We all adore Dimitri and I'm pretty sure it wont be long before we all adore Antonio as well. Another gem from the Championship, they are there and if we can get Byram in from Leeds, I'm sure he'll be another.
Agree chicken run.
I was the same mate, could not understand why antonio wasnt getting a look in & its been a stroke of luck weve had injuries(in a way) that he has got his chance.Hes excelled himself to cement his place,no way he will be dropped now,he is one of our standout performers at the moment & long may it continue....
He really suits a counter
He really suits a counter attacking side like us ,for a big man to have a blistering turn of foot is rare
Thing is now hes regaining
Thing is now hes regaining his fitness his touch has gotten ten times better aswell. Some of the tricks and touches against b'mouth were sublime by antonio
Imagine the bloke running at
Imagine the bloke running at you if you are a defender!
Blokes like a runaway steam
Blokes like a runaway steam train! If you get in his way your gona get run down! Whoo whoo all aboard next stop St James park.
Glad to see this post Antonio
Glad to see this post Antonio should be getting a lot of praise ATM, I'd say if Moses comes back into the team it would be more likely to be on the other side of the pitch. He causes so much panic in teams as his will to never give up unsettles defenders. Heard Slav couldn't appreciate his true worth in training because they weren't training on full size pitches which suit his game.
he deserves
all the praise coming his way.. having to wait was I am sure very annoying for him but now he's in unless he gets injured I cannot see moses getting his place back and why should he.. and yes there are plenty of other players down there if your willing to take a risk..
Just saw match of the day and
Just saw match of the day and the thing that struck me the most was the way Bournemouth defenders hated him running at them! Shades of old School that. Players running at defenders! That IS what West Ham are about. If he keeps on form running at defenders he will scare the day lights out of teams. Also noticed how United they seemed as a group before and during the game
The free kicks were incredible!
We all know that, ive watched them time & time again this week but also ive watched the assist from payet for valencias first & it gets better every time you watch it!!-i dont think there are many players in the world who could do what our dimitri did beating those 2 bournemouth players...
He sure is a box of tricks 65
He sure is a box of tricks 65,Credit to Antonio for winning both free kicks also
