Looks like i was way out on this one , i cannot believe no one came in for him , an England international with 20 odd goals , he must feel a bit rejected tonight, will we be sorry ?
Surprised no-one got him but then it's a similar story to the Stones, De Gea, Berahino only in reverse. Not everyone has a price and not everyone will pay your price. when you look at the business done on forward lines, Swansea absolutely nailed it with a great freebie, Liverpool paid a high fee for proven goalscorer but when you've been relegated no matter how well you may have personaly performed you stil weren't good enough to save your side. We were robbed counteless times when we went down and gave players away for pittance. QPR obviously felt they could cope with not getting exactly what they wanted and have a goalscorer now to get them the goals until the Jan transfer window at least. Bound to be some injured forwards and some goal shy teams then who may come back in for him but will QPR drop their price then dependant on how their season is going or still want $15mil. Will Austin ask for a transfer? Let's face we lost Defoe last day January to the spuds and they could well be after a striker come Jan if Harry is still firing blanks.
Always thought he wouldn't go. Having said that I think qpr have made a major mistake! If he gets injured or goes off form who's gona be interested in January. Then he will walk away for nothing. This season is gona cost Rangers a hell of a lot of money they can't afford. I can see spuds getting him for about 7 mill in January.
Yeah it looked a no brainer with his goal scoring record burkie but not only his price tag but his injury record must have scared a lot of clubs off,Palace made an approach to Austin and QPR on Monday, but the England striker turned down the potential move to Selhurst Park in favour of a season in the Championship, at the end of which he will be a free agent I heard
When it is well publicised that he failed a medical at Hull and QPR took a risk, which didn't work for them as they went down anyway. Why pay over £12m for a centre forward with obvious injury problems and someone who will probably fail the medical anyway? After the bad luck with Carroll, why would you then risk that sort of money?

But they turned down £12m?

I think that's the crucial
I think that's the crucial point: with our injury record with strikers why take another risk?
