Back to basics dare I say the Allardyce way.

Although I detest everything about the way we used to play under Allardyce it was obviously more simple for our defensive minded players and god knows we have a lot of them, so should our players be allowed to just smack the ball into touch when in doubt maybe too much emphasis is being made about playing football which some are obviously too slow or not ready for.

I cannot lie I am worried maybe its just the beginning of the season but once again our players look lost on the pitch and about as together as Prince Charles and Diana were, OK West Ham are not terrible but lack confidence pace want and basic understanding and awareness of what they are supposed to be doing. It could be that it will take time but do they have enough time to become what Bilic wants them to be and more to the point are they good enough to be able to do it competently at such a high level, I say its going to be a difficult season if Bilic thinks this bunch will learn petty quickly for a start he is playing some players out of position which is a pet hate for me, and I wont even mention the one who should never have started but did .

Our players should be encouraged to play football and move off the ball and work as a unit. We should also consider players in wide positions with pace, like the last two teams that beat us easily. It's simple really and not rocket science, takes a bit of toying with the formation and ensuring you have a Plan B and quality in depth.
I never want to go back to Allardyce football as it was dull and not worth paying to watch, I know lots of fans that were season ticket holders for many years that decided to stop going over the past 2-3 seasons. We seem to have a glut of central midfielders but no decent wide players? Only one decent fit forward also doesn't help.

I think if a defender is under pressure then he has to put it out into touch, regardless of what style of football the team is trying to play that's a basic rule of defending. I don't know who Cresswell was trying to pass to but that was lack of concentration and Jenkinson was too casual, fair play to Gradel for chasing him down but Jenkinson had a 10 yard head start

Should have played it back to our keeper or into touch, play the way you are facing and not turn back into a defender! Iv'e seen apologies from both Bilic and Cresswell on social media but the worst player on the pitch, by a long way and probably the worst performance I have ever seen in the PL, hasn't said a bloody word!!!

Hopefully he'll do his talking on the pitch. He's nowhere near match fit by the looks of it. He's got a few weeks to work on that.

I think any team that beat arsenal 0- 2 at their place on the first day of the season were bound to have an air of over confidence , it could be as simple as that. It sounds to me like theres a sereous case of the pro and anti sam batle's breaking out , he's gone and he aint coming back , get over it

Why does someone commenting on our shortfalls have to be linked to someone's opinion of Sam Allardyce, this seems to be the default for criticising the current management, nobody wants Allardyce back burkie but it doesn't mean people can't have an opinion about Bilic, or are you worried you're being proved wrong, because the side is playing equally as shite as it did the back end of last season under Allardyce

I think expectations are too high probably, the owners don't help that situation by constantly over exaggerating, saying things like 'we want the top 4 to be looking over their shoulder' and I don't think people are being too judgmental but you would expect basics from the players, effort and commitment for example and this is under a new manager which normally gives the players a boost. I think Bilic could be a good manager but the squad is nowhere near good enough for progression and unfortunately he'll take the brunt of that whilst the owners remain innocent, and I think that has happened with the past 2 or 3 managers, that said effort and commitment should be a given

ibut the euforia after the arsenal game was incredible even at that early stage , thinking was all we have to do is turn up and we'll hammer Leicester & Bournemouth , sure their were incredible mistakes especially our defense , the two full backs went into melt down in the same match , something that rarely happens any team and that caused the remaining half of the back four to get the jitters , another factor could be the home matches , sometimes its easier away from home sociologically, you can have know worries of the crowd on your back , lets just see what happens against Liverpool on Saturday , if the we get the same thing at Anfield well then i might come around to the fact that something is very wrong

I agree it is a bit worrying about how we cannot do the basics and schoolboy errors from some of our players is inexcusable. We have seen Cresswell pass back into no mans land before and let someone in to score. To me he is not a capable defender and should be higher up. Ienkinson is well off the pace and doesn't look fit. We are crying out for a winger or winger striker. Moses has been mentioned for 6 million. Maybe he could do the job. I watched Mcmanaman yesterday for West Brom and thought he was very good. I think we should have got him when he was at Wigan. Surely the owners realize we need some quality in a few positions and we need some tried and tested players not has beens or inexperienced ones. Probably going to be a few loans and am not sure it will be enough.

Look at the start last season compared to this season, can't help but think that the Europa Cup run has had a major impact. Pre-season is critical for re-building stamina and fitness at any level so I think this is a major contributor, Southampton are feeling it as well IMO.

Big Sam did a job and a good one too for us, promotion and a solid reliability in the premiership. It is now time to move onto the next phase of our development and to let Slaven 'try' and build a team and an ethos around his understanding of 'the West Ham Way'. I do not buy into 'the West Ham Way' as I think the modern premiership is not made for teams of the likes of West Ham's finances to be able to compete playing skillful passing football. We can compete but with a heady mix of Sam's way's and hopefully what the Slav may bring.
A footnote to this is I feel Dicks may be being detremental at the moment to our defence.

Look everyone we have not been great at home for several seasons so losing the the last 2 home games does not come as a surprise. I would not be surprised if we turn Liverpool over the same way we did the Arsenal. I still believe Billic will eventually get us playing a better brand of football both in attack and defensively. We need all players back from injury and suspension to assist him in his task plus a couple on loan before the transfer deadline. I don't think we have any money for permanent signings. By all means vent your anger ,frustration or disappointment but don't give it up just yet. Rome wasn't built in a day.

If we want to compete and win in this league the first thing we have to do is have 11 players on the pitch and to turn up in the first half and not keep giving opponents a two goal lead. 5 players sent off already is not what the manager needs in his first few matches. We would have expected at least four points from the two home games and now we've got to go to Anfield and hope for a good performance.

A performance Jekyll and Hyde would be proud of is the only way I can depict Saturday's loss, with that fantastic arse performance thought we had lift off, only to be left very disheartened, just hope they have learned from this ASAP!
