All questions cover the era from 1980 to present day

1. Which West Ham player was born in Hanover Germany ?

2. Who did Ian Dowie play his last game against for West Ham?

3. What do David unsworth and George McCartney have in common?

4. It 6 years since Sullivan and gold bought the club but who were their first 3 signings?

5. Name the ex West Ham strikers in the top 25 all time premiership scores

Harry's corker question

In the comic strip "striker", Warbury wanderers beat West Ham what was the score, who scored the winner and which hammers star was at at fault for the winning goal?

Sat in the front row of the Chicken Run, just a few seats away from me. And he was cheering for West Ham, not City, by the way. We were having a laugh with him about the good job he did at Millwall.

Close but still no cigar for Dowie. I checked your original guess and did spot 2 stints from Dowie just can't remember it! Maybe trying to block that out. Might have to look it up for the whole story to refresh.

Also they have both played for a team been sold and later come back. George obviously signed for us twice and undsworth signed for Everton on two separate occasions. Unless it's not football related ?

Harry's corker - it was a good one but here goes

The actual answer based on your question is they didn't play as It's actually Warbury Warriors - not wanderers lol!

But to answer the question

It wS 1-0 to Warbury

Zarate gave the ball away

Merenghi scored for Warbury

Warbury Warriors ha ha bit too exact for me.bscore correct, scorer correct but I have got someone else down for the mistake? Where did you get zarate from?

I have double checked on the website and I'm gonna have to declare void I remember it being a different player but the comic strip on the website shows the game but not the mistake. Unless of course you can prove otherwise?

Correct with the top scorers Harry. Can you believe we have had so many! Trouble is either they left first or arrived at the end of their career! 6 of the All time top scorers!

Ha ha Moore I thought it was a strange guess! Other brain cell not kick in this week? Anyway well done Harry and all. The problem with this quiz is like you say Moore, anyone can look it up so that means to make it last the questions have to be hard or obscure which may turn people off?

I stand corrected I didn't think we signed anyone before the summer but we signed some in the Feb so it's, Ilan, mido and mccarthy. How could I forget McCarthy and mido ??

Exactly correct mido and Benni quite a duo for us. Maybe unsworth and macrtney I'm being too vague about? It's supposed to be the reported reason why they left harry. Must admit having scouted thro the Internet we have had a hell of a lot of crap players at the club! Anyone who doubts the quality of the current one should have a look thro some of our teams! We have subs benches better than we had players for many years!

We certainly have had some rubbish haven't we. Anyway a great quiz again. I know not many joining in but feel free to do another one anytime you want as enjoy trying to work out the answers... Didn't undsworth leave because he was homesick - was McCartney the same reason ( or was it there wives that didn't want to live in London) ????

And the answer was, reportedly their wives wanted to move back. Strange because as u say macca came back.

Hammer for me the fun is refreshing your memories or indeed uncovering things you didn't know! For instance I never knew a fire bomb was thrown into our end against Newcastle! Until I came across it last week! Ditto that lomas was born in Germany! I'm sure Harry doesn't know every answer without the use of the Internet. And I'm sure he would be happy to admit it. So no we are not West Ham encyclopaedias, maybe we just have too much time on our hands. Guffaw

Yes you right the fun is in reminding ourselves just what has happened in the past ( mido,McCarthy, piquionne,Ben haim - what a joke but we signed them lol,). Of course I have to use the Internet to find some of the answers but that's part of the fun ( especially Harry's corker).
