Beware False Prophets & False 9's

Call me old fashioned, call me a pragmatist? But I'm in the minority, I know, where Potter is concerned it seems?

I'm quite content with what Potter is doing in the main. I don't want to sound like a broken record. But the season is gone, has been for weeks. So it seems to me at least. As though Potter is playing the long game. Running the rule over everyone, to get a proper handle on pre season.

Before the shenanigans begin with Midget porn and the gang. That being purse strings!!

Potter has sorted the defence out, now we resemble a closed shop. Not open all hours as we were under El Loppo. I must admit, I didn't realise it would take so long! It's been frustrating and I think a lot of the free flowing football we are known for, has had to suffer as a result with no end product ie goals.

But I have to say. The one thing that puzzles me. Is Potters reluctance to have a number 9 as the focal point. Ferguson and Fulkrug. The two "F's". Neither 100% fit it seems? Or are they? I think Fulkrug looks useful, Ferguson looks nervous (when we see him). So as I say, why are we not seeing more of them?

Southampton are there for the taking next weekend. A Fulkrug hat trick perhaps. A Ferguson brace, who knows?

Surely this is the game where we see a proper number 9 giving a proper number 9 performance. If we do not set up like this, I shall have to start asking questions, like everybody else FF'S (see what I did there)?

Ferguson, Fulkrug Surely!!!

Then i think the fans have every right to ask what is going on? Fulkrug has been injured and at 31 it does take longer to recover but in saying that the little time he has had shows he is miles ahead of Ferguson and personally the Lad should not be entertained as a target this summer.

But this game has to see us on the front foot passing the ball forwards with quick snappy passing none of the sideways and backwards crap we have been seeing....get an early goal and take them to the cleaners and there should be no excuses not a single one if we fail to win and win by at least three.

As for Potter himself i have no axe to grind as such i wanted Silva but it did not happen and Potter is trying to sort out a mess very much of Sullivans making and so it is harsh to say he is clueless and only believes in safety first....i mean if all is to be believed then Kudus and Pacman will both be gone maybe even Fulkrug and that is going to leave the squad with a major rebuild that we all new would be needed and that is going to be a massive test of Potters ability.

So lets see the season out with a bit more of an attacking mindset specially at home and see what we see in the summer.

I think Potter is been given too much grace here, the squad is very decent and there’s no way this team should be in the position they are, yes he’s stopped shipping so many goals but I don’t see much improvement at all in other areas, if you compare Everton’s game against Liverpool to the one last night there is no comparison, Potter has not had the effect a new manager normally has, I’m not a Moyes fan but he has definitely had the new manager effect. I wouldn’t trust Potter spending money and I don’t think Sullivan will either, Potter was the cheap option, I’ll be amazed if he sees out his contract. Ferguson has been a waste of a loan space, can’t imagine Ferguson feels great about the move either

Seems many are unhappy with Potter so that bodes extremely badly for the summer red=build. If Sullivan doesn't trust him to pick the players are we gonna get the midget's choices which will surely see the 3 promoted teams eyeing up 6points minimum next season. Sounds like we're fucked either way.

As Bikey has said and echoed my points. The game against Southampton has to be the measuring stick. We are at home. They have been relegated so by all accounts should be on the beach already.

This has to be the game, where Potter takes the shackles off. There can be no excuse here. Fluid snappy football with lots of goals. If he has a major plan, this is where it should all cumulate and bare fruit.

If it doesn't, I will certainly start to wonder!!

Pressure is off, they can relax and play their game. If Potter takes the shackles off ( big word "IF") by not playing five across the back it could be fun times for Southampton. I might even have a little bet on them if the odds are good.
