The Daves, Karren, Boris and (the SECRET DEAL!)

So Boris is under pressure to reveal (which he won't) the secret deal regards how much would be handed over if Mssrs Sullivan and Gold sell the club once we have moved to Stratford! Now we have paid around £15m up front and agreed a £2.5m per annum rent plus a % of catering profits and (if I'm correct) Stadium naming rights.
A lot of hoo ha going on about the £600m cost to the tax payer but what would have become of the stadium had we not been granted preferred and main tenants?
But did the Davids not offer to buy the stadium but were scuppered by Mssrs Hearn and Levy?
Will Premeir league football ensure business and job security for many in Westfield (especially food and drink outlets)?
Has the regeneration of lower Green Street been ignored with new state of the art housing thus protecting local business?
As I am given to understand West Ham will need to maintain the stadium (saving HM taxpayer money) an annual income and more jobs in the area. Am I missing something? But I would like to thank the fans of Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City and Utd and all others for donating so generously to our new home (and we had to get something back from those thieves in Sheffield lol) ohh and almost forgot how much lottery money went toward the stadium? so not as if our own fans have not contributed greatly (I know I did!) But I add final (takes a deep breath) the VAT returns should be quite substantial as well.

I guess the OS is at least some compensation for all those lottery tickets I bought and ended up screwing up and throwing at the cat.

I thought I read somewhere that athletics was the main sport,West ham were the main tennents paying rent, and other sports etc also had a choice to hire the stadium out of season. We don't own it just rent for the football season only.

But as you say steve if we hadn't taken it on it would have turned into a big white elephant . The money spent on it, it needs to be used as much as possible. If we had not it the only people that would be working there would be cleaners Dustin the cob webs off the seats ever week.

I often wonder if some of the detractors are just afraid that we may just in a few years really might start to get among the big boys?

The war isn't only on the pitch. There are so many anti-competitive things done off-pitch to ensure that Arsenal, Manure, Citeh, Poo, and Chelski remain at the top that it isn't even funny. The only funny thing is the Tottenahm wannabes.

I suppose I came to support West Ham a little later after they bought Billy Bonds from Charlton (who I had been watching as a teenager) and it was not until 1971 that I went and saw West Ham play. The football was absolutely magic in those days under Greenwood then Lyall and occasionally I have witnessed some great games and later the DiCanio years which I loved! Alan Pardew brought some of that magic back for a while but since then we have been pretty poor and I long for the days of attractive football again!
When we go to the OS (and we will fill it despite what the detractors say!) I just hope we have a dynamic manager in charge and SUGO have hopefully said thankyou Mr Allardyce but this club now moves on to better things!!!
Can we become a top side? I think so just look at what Chelsea did, Man City did and even Man United many years ago did as they came out of the old second division!
