Disgusted last night, ashamed to be a hammer. But then I suppose I'm too old

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Wed, 13/01/2016 - 14:31

I got a confession to make. During the game last night I was flicking from this forum, bbc, the official site and one other fans forum, in a vain bid for more information. By half time I flick on the fans forum to get a better idea how we were playing. I was ashamed to say over three quarters of the fans were abusive to the team in such an extreme, needless and uncontructive way I had to come off the web in shock. Luckily my son texted the Payet goal which made me switch on again. Call themselves fans? Just abusive morons. Yes ok it may have been bad, but if that's their response go and support someone else. One or 2 had suggested we were against a strong win, would it not have been fair to the team to suggest Bournemouth may suffer in the same way we did in the second half? Every single player in that first have was abused on that site just for the sake of it. If you are gona critise a players performance or ability at least raise a constructive argument. Knuckle draggers. Wish these idiots didn't attach themselves to my club.

as frustrated as it gets being a hammers fan nothing that has happened this season deserves such vile criticism...but sadly some people do not have a brain....two home matches this season the Leicester/Norwich games I had the unfortunate position to be sitting next to a total prick who was seriously asking for bilic to be replaced because he was tactically naïve.....been listening to to many radio phone ins I asked because you don't have a clue mate....this lead to the usual verbal abuse ....what can you say about people who do not have a clue......old saying...better for people to think your a fool than to speak and remove all doubt!

I love that old saying, it always makes me smile. As a result of last nights antics I haven't enjoyed this win at all like everyone else. At least you guys are now happy hammers.

For maybe 30 mins where we were pretty poor, but like you say it didnt warrant the abuse youve mentioned above..maybe we have some fickle fans but i reckon they are in the absolute minority!

I like to think I'm old school it will be 50 years at the start of the '66-67 season that I started following the World cup winners.

I've notice since the prem started ( as Cloughie once said ) It's all about money, and in todays world it's crazy money. Because of that it a must win situation.
The so called big boys fans have enjoyed dominance in the EPL and Euro's for so long they don't know what it's like to trip up.
Those ( so called ) fans you were on about Red Neck are more likely the minority. This season despite some loses that ( on paper ) we should have won, I've enjoyed seeing the so called out of favour clubs ( west ham included ) doing well in the prem and reading & seeing what the fans of the BIG BOYS are saying about there club because it's a MUST for them.............my arse I'm loving every minute seeing them lose / draw to teams that hardly get any show time on the likes of MOTD....IMO we should bide our time,if we qualify in the top 6 so be it if we finish 7th I'll be happy, starting the new season in a new ground as 2015/16 FA Cup winners.....I rest my case M'lud

Good post bonzo and everyone else. Being a West Ham fan of old the glass is always half empty so I'm not confident this will stay in the minority. Is it just the way football is going? It bugs me to think some idiots like them are taking tickets from people like me if that's their response

My dad took me to the boleyn in 1970 for my first game at the age of 5.A long, long time ago had a few ups, mainly downs but once youve got the claret & blue blood running through you, you never waver in your support! We have a team, manager, chairmen (karen brady included) to be proud of,we have the olympic stadium this year (which is the envy of every other clubs jealous support!!)We are playing as a team in a way i have never witnessed before,we are 5th,1 point behind the spuds,we are gunning (arsenal take note) for a champions league place...also bet on us for a good cup run...WHAT the F*CK ARE PEOPLE WHINGING ABOUT!!!!

its the fact that as west ham fans we cannot believe what kind of transformation is happening at our club on and off the pitch...we are used to occasional glimpses of genius and sides doing the unpredictable before sinking back to the usual relegation dogfights down the years seen way to many of those by the way!.. the odd cup run and foray into Europe and that's west ham.... but now suddenly we are moving to a bigger stadium the squads having money spent wisely on players and so the team are flying... in our hearts we will wait for the bubble to burst as it always has done and yet yet somehow it is not and of course the sniff of the ultimate European competition in our nostrils I mean whats going on this is crazy we are west ham we should be falling down the table its January after all looking over our shoulders as we fall is what we do but we are looking up and that well that's just not us is it?
