F.A Cup.

Submitted by Hammers65 on Mon, 11/01/2016 - 11:15

Well what a weekend of f.a cup action, oxford beating swansea, eastleigh almost beating bolton & exeter v the scouse-ditto!We are through to tonights draw (& a big up to jelavic for coming good with a corker of a goal)!
People are saying that the cup is not the same because of the prem & they have a point.Me i still harp back to the days when the fa cup was special,& for the lower league sides imo it still is...
Slav is quoted as saying he wants to lift a cup rather than get in the top 4,good for you slav i say,a trip to wembley for us all after the closure of upton park will be fitting...
So who do you want in the next round??a biggish club or a minnow?? Arsenal or the spuds?? thoughts please...

Can't wait for the draw this evening. Every January in which we are not looking over our shoulders or directly involved in the relegation scrap my head turns to the FA cup. I would love us to win it someday. Still remember the FA cup final in 2006 (my God has it been 10 years ago..) and to be honest I have had dreams in the years after it that we have actually won the thing. The feeling when waking up just ruins half of the day lol.
Give me Bolton at home any day! I'd love us to trash them at the Boleyn for all the times they've done us over. After that another lower league team would do nicely. Just not Liverpool, arsenal Chelsea tottenham or Palace!!

That wonder goal still haunts me when they show it again & again...it's like watching McQueen on his bike jumping over the barbed wire, every time I see ( millionth ) you say to yourself this time he's going to do it....with that cup final I say to myself the ref going to blow his whistle this time..................this year will be different

How could one forget the disappointment, what a game though. As above, looking forward to the draw and dont mind who we get, might be good to get a big now as they will putting out a weaker side at this stage.

No one wants West Ham the way we are playing at the moment home and away! Home draw would be good though and not bothered about who we play as Bilic will play a strong side if necessary (unlike a certain manager who would not). Looking forward to a good cup run this year. 1975 and 1980 was a long time ago but great times watching us win the FA Cup at Wembley and 2006 we were very unlucky. Love us to win it in our last year at the Boleyn

I didn't want pool but not cause I fear them, just because the less I see or hear the media fawn over them the better. Why were we number 3? And arsenal 10? We used to be something like 23 or 25

and that will surely be a good reason for another treble T shirt to go along with the Spudz shirt from 2014!!!!

If liverpool beat exeter they will not fancy playing the mighty hammers, hope for a big allocation of westham tickets so me & mine can go...revenge for 2006!!

I get people who are positive about the draw as we beat them twice this season already. But still this was our first win at Anfield for 52 years. They do have a hectic schedule but my god how I would have liked us to meet a league 1/2 side and after that get a prem side.. the nightmare of Liverpool... just hope we can do it again.

I probably would have fancied anyone else, Home or Away other than the Spuds and Bin Dippers. Something about Liverpool and cups that haunts me. Can't think what it is!!! Gonna be a tough game at Anfield should they beat Exeter and not exactly a happy hunting ground for us. Still if we're gonna win it, then let's win it in style and not ease through round fter round against minnows like the others always seem to do.

I shouldn't but I'm happy with this match up. I think Poo will struggle with how to approach it, attack or contain, get mixed up in some halfway between the to and end up assisting us in beating them (again).

So another trip to Anfield and the opportunity to right another wrong in this competition. We were robbed and we're now going to make you pay.

Was the first time I have been able to watch that 2006 final again , it still hurts just as much today as it did then. Watching it I forgot , how far we could have been in front before that last minute goal. I forgot we hit the inside of the post when it was 3-3 if only that had gone in. Harewood and Yossi both could have scored to have made it 3-1 . But then the pens Reina was so far off his line on each one as Hislop stayed on his line . Worst feeling I have ever had for a match .

Gerrard the git had his best game ever in a liverpool shirt, everyone knows westham fan or not we should have gone home with the cup that day...only consolation that it was the best final in a long time...
