You're not kidding! It's going to be a huge wrench, even to those of us who can no longer go. My first trip to Upton Park is forever ingrained on my memory. The sight, the sounds, and the smells!
My first pristine programme, more valuable to me than a first edition of the Gutenberg Bible!

But time waits for no man, and we need to move on. I just hope that our new manager, and our 'new team' give the old ground a fitting farewell season; but we are West Ham... :-)

Because I don't live in England Bully I've only been to UP a few times but I reckon on the last home game of the season anybody selling Kleenex outside Upton Park will make a mint.

It's gonna be an emotional year to come, It will be fantastic to leave the Boleyn with great memories of the final season revolving around good players, excellent games and hopefully plenty of goals and winning formula, The 'old' hostile and intimidating Boleyn let's do her proud COYI

How could 'he I will no longer name' get it. You live, breathe, eat, sleep, cry and die following WH like no other club. It wraps itself in the heartstrings and doesn't let go. Unless you understand that, unless you grasp the history of the high's and lows, the greats that have graced the hallowed turf and kissed the badge and listened to the fans singing loud and proud, you can't get it and therefore don't and won't ever belong.
I hope to God I get to visit one last time later in the year to say my own farewell.

Fixtures are out next Wednesday, and I hope we get the last game of the season at home. That being said, I am now a man of convenience, and whilst I have had some absolutely terific times and memories at the Boleyn, the whole match day experience is not what is used to be for me. Firstly, they shut down the boozer in Plaistow where I used to drink, and it hasn't really been the same since, then the getting there and back now is an absolute nightmate. Ok when you're single and don't have a care in the world, nightmare when you say to the Mrs i'll be home at 6pm Saturday to spend a tiny bit of time with the kids, and be just getting on the tube by that time, or convincing yourslef you can get home by 10.30pm on a MOnday night special.
So with that reason, whilst it will take a bit of time to bed in, I cant wait to get into the OS. Fantastic times in the past, but very much looking forward to the new future. COYolympicstadiumI
