All of us on here were always confident in the team the managers and board this season and they have delivered yet another year in the prem god bless em one an all:-)
Have to say with no irony whatsoever: What a strike by Mark Noble! Moyes made a git of himself by saying that Noble has to do more "as he gets older"; even if that's true, and I believe it is, this was not the time for a remark like that. Noble just saved the club what, £30M or something like that?
Now to get our IDENTITY back!!!! WELL DONE HAMMERS!!!!
Ive never understood how Noble ended up as a holding midfielder. Dont get me wrong he does the job well and does alot of unnoticed work but hes always had the ability to strike a ball yet we moved him out of them areas
Going back all the way to the Great Escape season, when "Tevez kept us up", Noble was a really important contributor going FORWARD. And as you say, he can strike it sweetly. Not as often as I'd like, but this is by no means the first time, and there have been many wicked near misses too. And he's our penalty taker. I for one always feel confident with him going to the spot. BANG! GOAL! By contrast he can be slow tracking back, ends up with a lot of yellows, gives away needless fouls near the area and passes a lot better in space than in possession.
See i dont think hes slow tracking I think its lack of good partners. Not many people seem to notice how many interceptions per game he makes and how much he covers the full back. I agree about the passing. Very good passer of the ball when he has movement in front of him but doesnt have that next level of Passing like players like Payet have. But as you said in the great escape season he was excellent going forward but somehow ended up playing further back the next season. Then you had Zola who used to have him in and out his team grant the less aid the better and Allardyce clearly wanted him in front of the back 4
I'm sure you know Fred, he has got given that role by default. No one else was willing or capable of doing it. Also being slow and older it becomes easier to put a player like him behind the ball rather than ahead of it. Maybe, he is the exception to that rule and could play at times in the hole? Anyway I admit I've only see motd but I must say arnie looked immense! For me his shot that hit the bar was out of this world and would have been even better than nobes if it had gone in! Stupid refs decision to book him for pulling his own arm away from a Leicester iron like grip.
How he got such power on it from the angle he had and the space to turn -- reminds me of Bruce Lee's one inch punch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sdv_9MhOSoI
Check it! :)
and fourth/fifth and sixth it.......now lets see if the unholy trinity are true to there word and make the changes but of course like many I wont be holding my breath
I will go along with it all.It will be interesting to see what happens over the summer. The last 2 seasons have been the worst ive ever known. The squad needs looking at obviously, but also in my opinion,is the stadium situation,is also as important.

That's a good point Fred.

That shot what hit the bar WAS immense.

Arnies footwork in the box
Arnies footwork in the box aswell is absolute madness.
Arnie is the main reason weve stayed up imo
I hope he stays, seems to love the fans & club, but you never know nowadays
65 I have no doubt in
65 I have no doubt in agreeing with you. Arnie has kept us up more or less on his own. Even scot Parker couldn't do that!
Without significant
Without significant investment in the squad and a new manager I'll call it now and say we'll be relegated next season!
