HOME fans guide to west ham

Submitted by curly on Fri, 18/09/2015 - 13:05

Hi Folks - I am a hammers fan from Belfast and am planning my long overdue first visit to the Boleyn before the move to OS. I'm in London in early Nov so hoping to get to irons vs Everton. The web has loads of guides for visiting away fans but SFA for a first time home supporter! Any advice on decent pies and pubs pre-game and how best to get to central London after the game would be appreciated. Cheers!

Can't believe one of you locals haven't helped this fella out....so the tube arrives at Upton Park station which is probably only 300 yards from the stadium, don't worry you haven't taken the wrong train and ended up in the Middle East....choice of pubs (that I know) are Queens which is the first pub you come to on the right hand side or just past the ground and on the left is The Boleyn which has a much better atmosphere, singing etc. if you're looking for food then I think the pie and mash munchers go to Ken's cafe which is on Green Street, I don't go in there as I'm from the westcountry so they won't compare to our pies and pasties....after the game I have to get back to Paddington so I normally walk past Upton Park station and go onto Stratford, that way you can have a butchers at the new stadium, good luck with the trip

I was exactly the same mate, I didn't see a game at all last season, couldn't bring myself to part with the cash to watch it, I shall try and get to a few games this season though and enjoy the good times

If you go down the Barking Rd , (left at the Boleyn Pub you have Nathan's Pie and Mash) For a pre match beer you also have the supporters club behind the Bobby Moore Stand (50p entry) good atmosphere had a few in there with ANTKB. Plenty of carry out places outside Upton Park Station. If You go left outside the station you will see (after a short walk) The Duke of Edinburgh Pub. A chip shop at entry Queens Market. Good luck.
