I'm daring to dream

For a couple of seasons now we've had to take the "best to be safe than sorry approach". We now have a manager who is loved by the fans, and who the fans love back. A captain who is a fan, who loves this team, and the team and fans love him back. A star who only works and would be appreciated at West Ham, who the fans love and he knows it. The best and most entertaining football, with a never die attitude that I haven't seen, since I can't remember. If we'd have had a fit Sakho, Lanzini, Payet and Lanzini all season we'd have won this league. I feel something about West Ham, I haven't felt since 86. I hope it doesn't end in ultimate failure like then, and I pray that I get to go to Wembley with my kids and watch us win an FA Cup. Well done SUGO there were doubters but you knew as fans what we wanted in our last emotional year at the old girl, and you have delivered. COYIs!

Ha ha. But seriously Betty, I couldn't agree with you more. This is the most enjoyable season ever for me as a Hammers fan. I don't go back far enough to remember the really great ones, but this one really is special. And watching the FA cup last night I think the commentators were finally beginning to change their tune, too. My word, they were saying that West Ham were "quality"! I couldn't believe it. And they said that West Ham were a good passing side. WHAT?????? And they said we were relaxed and expressing ourselves and fluid and stroking the ball rather than just knocking it about. And they said what character we had to assert our dominance after going 1-0 down. I had to pinch myself. Well, it may yet end in tears, but I will be well proud of my team at the end of this season.

Slav listens to what the fans want,he will not always get it right but he wants more than just points,he wants the fans to leave enthralled excited and most of all happy,Great to be able to look forward to a game, not have that awful sinking feeling, and as you say with missing key players the team is only 70% of what it could or will be,with the passion blood and guts attitude we fear no one COYI

A lot of eyebrows were raised when Slaven Bilic was given the job of coaching Croatia and watching his team beat England and many others with lets face it young mediocre players (Modric apart) opened my eyes to what type of manager he was going to be. He lost it a little in his next job but more than made up for it with Besitkas where the fans adored him and his adventurous style of football.
I was so pleased when they gave him the managers job at West Ham and at last we fans have our West Ham back playing the West Ham way and very soon a new stadium and just maybe a realistic shot at the title next season?
Terry and I have our season tickets for next season and we are really looking forward to a good finish this season and lets hope a Wembley cup final!!! A good time to be a Hammers fan :-)
