Please don't let it be true that Sunderland have beaten us to getting Jenkinson on loan for next season! I'm hearing also that Arsenal are trying to get Nathaniel Clyne! SUGO and Slav sort it quick!

They have agreed to pay Arsenal the loan fee they want, but that doesn't mean the deal is done yet. Clyne??! How many right backs do they want!!?

I heard he wants to stay in London not up north.

I am no expert but I actually did not rate Jenkinson mainly because he failed to get past the defender most of the time and the amount of back passes and cop outs instead of taking the defender on slowed the game down imo. Cresswell was far superior on the other wing! I hope we buy a decent defender if we don't get him and in a way I hope we don't!

I have to agree

He did a job but I didn't see him flying down the wing and getting good balls in the box, Trippier would do that and for only £3.5m! Defended well enough but not going to lose sleep over it.

He is still very young though

And I think Sam probably stopped him going forward as much as he could. As he grows in confidence he will attack more, especially with Slav wanting attacking full backs. Have you seen Jenks play for England U21s? Some pundit likened him to Gareth Bale the other day which is taking it way too far, but you get the picture.
However, after saying all this, if he goes I do agree about Trippier. I also very much like Sam Bryam from Leeds who could be a star in the making.

Sam undoubtedly ordered both fullbacks to not attack so much in the second half of the season. I think Jenks has not decided yet, and if we and Arsenal can work out a deal he will come back to us. I just think Sully isn't happy with us paying 2 million quid plus his wages, and not even have an option to buy at the end of the season, it's a lop-sided situation favouring Arsenal too much.

Strong rumour going around

Strong rumour going around that Jenks will sign for us again when he gets back from the U21 championships. Will be another loan but whether our owners have insisted on a buy option next year is unknown. I fully expect them to go for another right back in the transfer window, maybe a youngish player with 'potential.'
