He's finally signed a permanent contract with Besiktas and I have to say I'm quite sorry to see him go. He's obviously made a good impression there and I doubt there will be very few of us Hammers who will forget his wonder goal for us against Chelsea.
His departure however has left me with some thought, as in my idle mindless moments I am prone to try and figure out the best foreign XI we have ever bought. And it's always the left back position that has got me stumped. Too early to give thoughts on Emerson and Masuakus' selection would give probably give howls of derision from this forum.The only other one I can think of is Ilunga who had a wonder first season then totally fell off the radar. Have I missed any other LB's?
He was a much better player
He was a much better player going forward than defending.

He was a liability at left back but in a forward role ,he wasn't played enough in that position imo.

More RB if I remember but Sebastian Schemmel was a great foreign full back for us

Konchesky kinda has two full England International caps so not quite as foreign as I'd like

He linked up great with Matty Etherington....but deluded was looking at foreign players & konch was from Dagenham I think!!
