The guy at the bottom of the list get's the nod.....typical West Ham so when are we going to be taken seriously by anyone? Maybe it's the PR machine that's the problem again.....slags off the manager and the captain on twitter last season again and today informed the world about our pending announcement of the new manager with a 'cheeky' tweet after leaving school today? And we wonder why the club isn't taken seriously as a multi-million pound business?

You won't be the first to point that out or be the last ANTKB, Why the club allow such authority from a kid making "Exclusive, you heard it here first"announcements from his pram is beyond me,With my old man it was you should be seen and not heard LOL

I also agree about the PR machine. I don't blame them if they actually did try to get one of the best managers in the world to come to us, but they shouldn't have said that is what they were going for. It just got people's hopes up that an Ancelotti or a Klopp might be our new manager. But we have to be realistic: we are a mid-table PL side, we can't compete financially with the top 6... Hell even Southampton are richer than us with their billionaire owner, and with the cash they've got from player sales recently. Was it genuinely realistic that a really top manager would come here? We have potential, but many sides might say that. 'IF' Bilic is appointed, I know some people will be disappointed given the way our owners were talking, and because they haven't forgiven him for leaving us for Everton many years ago. But I think, at this stage of our recovery from near bankruptcy and relegation, he is a good fit for the club. I also do not think he was bottom of the list (at least not the list of realistic candidates). I've heard, from a usually reliable source, that when it became apparent that we couldn't get Benitez, Bilic was immediately contacted, immediately said yes; and all the subsequent talk of Emery and Bielsa etc. was just spin and window dressing. I wouldn't repeat that story unless I thought it had a good possibility of being true, but make of it what you will.

Plays good football, mid- table, to get us to the OS. That is one of two things that would keep me happy and the other small thing is League Cup, FA Cup and Europa Cup so we qualify for Champions League.!!!!!!!!!

I'm new to the site, been reading comments for a few weeks now and decided to join the fun, re Bilic, i must admit he wasn't my first choice, Benitez was but now he's with us I will back him all the way, just done a bit of re-search and BFS win percentage was 39% Bilic has a 55% win rate, if he can keep that sort of form up we will do well.

When he left us it was to win trophies.......with Everton who were shite and bottom of the league! Nothing to do with the money, his wages went from £4.5k to £8k by the way! I hope he has changed obviously but our previous experience wasn't very honest
