Next season

Hi Guys.

New to the site and would like to see where everybody thinks we go as of next season team wise (I know we dont know for definite who is going to be the manager yet)!!

But lets give ourselves the job.

Obviously we dont know exactly how much money we would have to spend or how much we could generate from sales etc BUT lets have a go at WHAT THE NUCLEUS of our team/squad would be.

Im releasing/selling O,Brien,Demel,Noble,Jarvis,Cole and Nolan. All of these are either past their usefullness Prem wise or simply never had it (Jarvis and Noble)!!!

I would also consider selling Valencia (as unfortunately he does not look as if he has goals in him) and would possibly consider moving Collins on (lots and lots of heart but there comes a time when that just not enough any more).

4 of my first replacements would be El Mahamody and Mc Gregor at Hull ,Remy at Chelsea and Siggurdsonn at Swansea.

We need to address our "deficiencies with width" and as such I would be trying to lure Merallis from Everton.

I would like to see Jenkinson signed permanently and have him as coverfor LB and RB.

A line up of :

Adrian/Mc Gregor

El Mahamody,Reid,Tomkins,Cresswell

Merallis Kouyate,Downing,Siguurdsonn

Sahko,Remy

Back up: Carroll,Jenkinson,Burke,Poyet,Valencia (if staying) Collins(if staying).

Obviously need a few more squad (potential starters) and once the relegation battle has been decided a good look there for the cream of them (Ings etc) and a look at whos maybe not getting a regular game at City/Utd/Chelsea/Arse to see if there are any there that could be added.

Anyway thats where I would be going with it.....im sure other will have their own ideas.

Hope you share them.

I did.

But the kind people let me out!!

Welcome mate. Sorry to hear about your about your former life! Hahaha.... You'll have to tell us the story one day! :-))

Will give some thought to your question, though knowing who is going to be manager, and if we will be in Europe really need to be answered before I could give much of an opinion.

hi IusedtosupportSpurs and welcome , i had to copy and paiste that , your going to have to do something with that handle , i agree with your selling options , although i think "selling " might not be the appropriate word ,i would use the phrase " please i beg you , take them , if you do you can sleep with my sister " if i was a manager i'd have to think seriously whether i would spend good money on them , slight , very slight reservations about including Noble , a player that would give everything for west ham but to me he just never set the world on fire , Jarvis ? a head down and run like f**k merchant , whoever was responsible for paying that much for him should be shot with a ball of their own shite , Cole ?well my friend my views on him will soon become apparent to you if you post regularly on here , welcome again mate

Welcome. Before offering some alternatives, keen on your impression on Jenkinson as only cover. Been a stand out performer for us this year and can't believe Arsenal are prepared to let him go.

Not decrying him mate just cautious regarding "being a standout"!!

Pretty Reliable.... tick.
Enthusiastic....tick.
Hard working....tick.

Thats only cover/rotatable for me but then again thats just my take on his performances (and obviously ive not seen them all).

Whilst relative consistent in his role and remembering defending is his main priority Im struggling to think of his major contributions up the park on either the goalscoring front or making a direct contribution to any of our goals.

As stated obviously thats not his main role but its absolutely vital in the modern game that everybody contributes in all areas of the field.

Again this is his most consistent run in first team football in the Prem so he has time and opportunity to further develope.

If his deal is made permenant and hes first choice I wont be unhappy.

Just looking at alternatives and lets be honest supposing he does become permanent we need cover(IMO).

After watching him against Liverpool I said on here that we would go for him and I just read somewhere that we have apparently made enquiries. 20+ goals and a good player in my opinion, Liverpool struggled with him.

Is JJ Shelvey, can play it short, or long. Technically sound, got a goal in him too.
The closest I've seen to Lampard Jnr in as much as he can start and finish off a move without always playing it square!

He played at Arsenal and then West Ham as a youngster before moving to Charlton. His older brother George was also a very good player at West Ham and scored a 30 yard screamer for England in Brazil that was live on sky, so his dad told me. Jonjo's dad knew he would make it from when he was a very young age, as he knew he had the desire and dedication. I think he is very talented and just look at how he's not frightened to have a go, unlike all of our midfielder's outside the box? The other Saturday Swansea scored 2 goals and he assisted both apparently so I would see him as a huge asset and exciting to watch.

Ive always wondered why we havnt tried to sign shelvey.I reckon he would jump at the chance of playing for the mighty hammers,a romford boy & westham fan too i believe....

Remy is injury prone and past his best, I see no reason why mirallis or siguurdsonn would want to come to West Ham. We need to look elsewhere I'm afraid.

Just released with immediate effect from Schalke, Milan 3 years previously, 28 and box to box midfielder with no signing on fee? Not marquee but better than a few we have currently!

Decent shout mate. Would cover more ground in 1 game than Song and Noble have in the entire season. Thats the biggest "failing" for me. almost impossible for any forward to impress when you have such a lack of pace and drive coming from your midfield!!! Add Nolan,Downing and Jarvis into the equasion and its not hard to see why we struggle to have possesion of the football but NOT SUPRISING that we fail to have any periods of domination against anybody (usually including the ones that go down to 10 men early on against us)!! Its a huge concern. Whether Boeteng would have the hunger for the challenge is an unknown quantity ( I guess it is with just about ANY player you sign). WHAT IS PATENTLY OBVIOUS is THAT SOMETHING needs to be done. Song will shuffle off to mug some other unfortunates bank account and well Noble will be just Noble. If its not addressed we will be going hell for leather to keep up with Bournmouth, Watford and either Middlesboro or brentford next season as the Stokes/Swanseas and Sotons of the world continue their improvement and the top 6/7 becomes an ever decreasing dream far less ever looking at the top 4!! . The "lethargy" around every 1 of our performances now is tangible!! If Adrain and the likes of Collins/reid dont have standout games now you just know its going to be "90 mins of trying to keep the opposition out". 1 positive is the emergence (albeit through injury) of Burke. Its suprising Allardyce hasnt put Nolan to Centre Half!!! anyway fingers crossed that some flair/enthusiasm/realistic skill is on our horizon.
