Ring any bells? Blackburn stuffed us 7-1 Roeder the manager pleading for more time and criticizing the defence for not doing the basics...sound familiar?...a quarter of a century on what has changed?

Go through good and bad not just west ham. Some havent ever had success.

Thats football. I sometimes believe we fans are a bit deluded, myself included. We have never been a top club. We are a good one yes, but our expectations always seem too high. Clubs like newcastle have been up and down, so if they go down their fans will harp on about suffering and crisis etc. But its the cycle of a clubs life.

I actually like this league. Watching prem this weekend reinforces that. Theres no crisis, no need to panic. Theres always time to improve. Im looking forward to seeing the team gel more, seeing youngsters improve and hopefully us being in the mix to get promoted and perhaps being a brighton or bournemouth, better run and modern thinking.

In meantime ill enjoy this season.
