Ogbonna signs

Italy international, Angelo Ogbonna aged 27, signed on a 4 year deal. Everton and Southampton both tried to gazump us, but he WANTED to some to US!!! The Bilic and OS factors coming into effect.

I'm guessing he'll be a starter when fit so 2 of the 3 others will be disappointed, I guess we've got plenty of games but I think centre back is a position that needs to be playing together regularly to get the best from them. I think Reid has struggled a bit for the past 18 months, Collins is getting on a bit and it sounds like Ogbonna is a physical centre half so perhaps more suited to Tomkins?

Well, with Ginge and Henry as first line cover, and Burke and Oxford coming through fast, we ought to have enough cover in central defence, but we do need another right back.

Are we getting Jenkinson, Bully? If we do they may well keep JO'B as cover. Also in the two legs against Lusitans They've put Reece Burke at RB when they've taken Joey off in both legs. I'm happy with O'Brien as back up and Burke developing for now.

It's pretty much accepted that Jenks will sign on another season long loan on Monday or Tuesday, so yes they may well do as you say and keep JOB as he is our only real utility player. Guess we can't improve everywhere all at once :-)

I was a big fan of 3 at the back when we played it under arry I think. Rio was always the one that dropped back in the centre. Would be nice to see it again with flying full backs....

Quite a lot, 10 million being quoted, but apparently being paid over 3 years... I don't understand financial stuff, but that's reckoned to be good business... Guess we will see.

After the first couple of years the Daves took over and being skeptical of their reputation to being linked with top names, as some suggest to just sell season tickets, only for them never to come into fruition. How good is it to see them now getting the players we crave and spending to improve the squad. A lot has to be said for having the right Manager and incentive (ambition)

Bang on Melbourne. They're really showing intent and ensuring we have a season to remember. Cannot wait to face the Gonners (oops Gooners) on Aug 9.

That's right. One more big signing and few people will be able to moan. I'd also expect to see one or two more loan deals for good players (not including Jenks.) And hopefully Song can get his problem sorted and we can arrange to get him in January if it can't be sorted this window.

I liked his interview on the official web site; he came across very well, think he will try hard to fit in and do his best. Let's hope he is a quality signing.
