Great turn around after an average first half. Class from Payet and also Valencia for his well taken goals. Down side is Carroll yet again but a good feeling after yesterdays Bowie death. COYI
Why do we seem to start slow? get a kick up the arse at ht and then we get playing do not no why this happens and it has been on more than one occasion this season
Seems to be happening with alarming regularity. We actually seemed to start ok this time but as soon as AC got injured we lost our way and got sucker punched almost immediately. Fortunately now we have the quality to dig ourselves out of the holes we create.
I thought for the first 10 minutes we were going to batter them, we started well on the front foot.
Carroll gets injured and we lose our momentum completely for half an hour.
Picked up towards the tail end of the first half and as for the second period, there was only one team in it.
My thoughts exactly. It was case of losing the edge and a bit of confidence. half time couldn't come faster enough. It's good that their multimillion buy couldn't convert his two big,big chances. Second half was more like us. Sublime freekicks from Payet and Valencia. Antonio's runs made them possible mind that. We can talk about a lot of things but the match winner Payet is the real deal without him we will suffer. Main summer mission keep this man in and get a 15 goals striker in!
We didn't start slow. We nearly scored in the opening seconds. And Carroll created a decent chance. But we collapsed like a pricked balloon when AC went off, and it's a bit understandable. I think AC gets them geed up, and he was keen to score three games in a row in the league. Fortunately we weathered the storm and then rode the wind for all she was worth.
the first 10 mins we were very good, the slump started when we lost Carroll, the heads went down, but with 10 mins to go to end the first half the signs were there that we were coming back into it.
If you score 2 we will score 3, though that does not always work its good to have decent defenders and a pretty solid goal keeper to allow there to be an end to a game like yesterday.
Those goals though, the quality of West Hams goals are so much better these days.
The dip on Enner's dumbfounded me. Was like a flop shot in golf, went high then dropped out the sky like it had backspin on it. Keeper didn't even move. Payet's was so good, 2 keepers wouldn't have saved it and the trickery for the 2nd and power as it came of Enner's foot was beautiful. They all just have to be re-watched time and again.

It reminds me of the early 80,s
