Its been said to me on numerous occasions these days "cant see you lot keeping Payet ".
So simple question, will he go or will he stay ?,my opinion for what its worth ,even if our beloved club get it together and we wake up from this nightmare and get a few results i cant see us finishing higher than mid table ,i cant ,even in my wildest dreams see him here this time next year ,he's turned into a superstar before our very eye's and he's only got 2 or 3 years left and the big boys of European football are watching him like a hawk ,he scored another one for France tonight .
So wat ya fink
Can't see him staying
I think he will go but I would love to see him stay. The only thing that goes against us is at his age he would love to win a title with anyone and we can't supply that. The thing is if we got a really good striker in the next transfer window he might think at least he is on big money and 1st name on the sheet so at least he is getting plenty of game time. Hope loyalty wins over sitting on another teams bench.
I think it depends on how
I think it depends on how likely he'll get his next call up to France. Is he better off playing every week in an underperforming team every week, or is he better off playing less minutes in a team like Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc? I hope he stays and I think we may be pricing him out of the market....but I think he would go if given the opportunity.
Risky Business
By January he will be nearly 30 and I can't see anyone paying £40m for him. If we are realistic we will probably get 2 decent seasons out of him, as he looks like someone that bears weight and he will struggle to shed the pounds more in the next few years. The other question you have to ask is 'why did it take until he was 28 to reach the sort of headlines and media attention that he has received? He didn't get it before and when he came to West Ham he wasn't even being picked for France? He scored some great goals last season for club and country but this season in the games we have seen he hasn't delivered the same. As for the goal against Boro, he took it well but can we please start being real about the game and analyse the goal and what was going on? The defending was worse than ours, and that is saying something!, watch it again and look at how bad the defending was and then tell me if it was up there with a Messi type of wonder-goal?
