sudden death

not a post about west ham or football at all. Just one about life and to remind us all to enjoy it while we have it. Last week a petrol station exploded near where I work, people were sheltering under it from the heavy rains and someone thought is a good idea to drop a lit cigarette on the flooded ground which wasn't just water but fuel flooding from the underground chambers. there were a few unfortunate drivers who had simply gone in to fill up when boom. yesterday i was told that a close friend had died. she simply had a shower and slipped, cracking her head on the bath. i spoke to her just two days ago…she was fine and two days later she's gone. life is precious my comrades, take care of yourselves.

You are so right about how precious and fragile life is. Just today my eight year old was coming home from school. I've told him a million times about playing with a handball and the streets and all that. But he bounced it, it went into the street. He ran after it. Fortunately the car screeched to a halt and no one was hurt. All night I've been thinking just like you say -- one minute they're there, the next they ain't. You take every day and cherish it. Very very sorry for your loss, mate.

Sorry to hear that Dicksy, it's never easy dealing with a loss and you're exactly right, life's a precious gift but can easily be taken away as well

My condolences mate. You never think it'll happen to you and then it does and all your past fears come racing to the surface and you wonder what's next. Enjoy life whilst you have it and embrace all those around you

About 3 years ago Dicksy my wife's brother died tragically and for about two years after when we went to his house you kept expecting the door to open and see him walk in, either slagging or telling a joke. It's not easy. West Ham is part of our lives but Family and Friends are always top.
