Just sayin'. A new, RECTANGULAR stadium is going to be built on the site that will have NO ATHLETICS TRACK. It will have greater capacity, but with steeper rise so that fans are all closer to the action. This is the right move. The lesson to be learned: WHO NEEDS A "LEGACY" STADIUM? It will always be a white elephant.

around the world after the spectacle of the olympics turn into white elephants left to decay because no thought given as to what to do in the future....seb coe is passionate about athletics but sadly it is not so about the majority of the sport loving public and so in blind faith he pushed for and got what he thought would be a lasting legacy for athletics...the stadium is draining money from the tax payer everyone who is linked with it panics when figures are mentioned look at newham councils meeting this week when it came to discussing there involvement the meeting was closed to the public?? gives you some idea....when all the angst about the spuds wanting the site if it had happened they planned to demolish it and build a football stadium...where as our lot saw a chance to make easy money by moving us in and well the rest is history....of course i dont doubt they also gambled on the long game hoping they will be offered the stadium at some future point for a pittance and from there probably build a new football ground....they do not have the money for that and would need extremely wealthy partners to do so but that is for a possible future not for now.
