Thrilled and a little disappointed

One again Woy overlooks the chance to play starring Hammers in his friendlies, where the opportunity exists to try something a little different before cementing your game plan to exit the group stage of yet another major tournament. Now to me, whose passion for the national team has dwindled over many years to the point where I can barely be bothered to read the match report, this gives our boys a free weekend to recharge their batteries before a passionate London derby against the smaller team from North London (who incidently have 4 players in the squad). So in terms of staying injury free we're ahead of the game.
However despite Woy witnessing the demolition of Chelsea at UP recently and giving lip service that Aaron, James and Mark were in his thoughts if they keep progressing,he has decided to not bother giving even one of them a shot. Now as I said above, great they stay injury free, but what if during these pointless friendlies Woy runs out of spuds and their ilk, due to injury or loss of form (not usually a reason for dropping players) in the run up to Euro 16 and has failed to prepare incoming players for the rigours of Intl football. We fail to progress from the group and Woy bemoans injuries due to his own shortsightedness of giving other players a chance to impress.
Anyone care?

Tomkins an England player? Why not? Personally I'm not saying he is top notch or world class, but he doesn't need to be! He only needs to be better than the dross currently being selected and I believe he could very well be.

Is tomkins any worse than the others in the centre of defence for the England team?Apart from last week hes been brilliant all season...

He has worked hard on his game and his fitness (pace) and I think this has shown in his performances, so why not be given a chance?

Burkie 1

Would you say "the nations passion" for the national team would be bolstered by the inclusion of the 3 players you mention?

Do you think these 3 players would enhance the nations chances of progressing through the group stages(of Im assuming Euros 2016)?!

No to question one Spurs and marginal for question 2. But the same could be said about the omission or inclusion of most if not all of the players in the squad, and for me that's the debate. England have become a nothing team with nothing players. A succession of managers making the same blinkered mistakes have allowed England as a team do nothing but regress. No one with any balls to go against the grain. Everything England have done for decades is tired and old hat.we need a manager who brakes those "rules" and has a more open and inivitive idea. We all know Roy's talking hogwash about the hammers players having a chance.

I'm not sure how adding 3 extremely average players to the mix would change that though!

Might make it " slightly more interesting" from a viewing point of West Ham fans but seeinging 3 of our players fall flat on their faces ( which is what would happen IMO) wouldn't improve anything including morale of said players.

If you think putting Mark Noble into an already pedestrian and lacking vision midfield would do anything other than regress it further whilst " exposing" Cresswell who has been ripped assunder by such teams as Bournemouth,Norwich and Leicester would only further expose his glaring weaknesses!!

Tomkin's to be fair has improved dramatically in recent times ( though does still have a tendency to ball watch far too often to be considered real top class) so given the fact England are not well blessed in that area maybe he's worth considering ....but when Reid and Ogbonna are fully fit are you convinced he will be a regular starter for club?

Tbh honest Spurs I'm not championing anyone from West Ham for England this was more a rant against former managers and the way they get driven by big club syndrome and the media. I agree with what you say about all three and an interesting thought about what could happen. Tomkins was probably worth a shout to be in the squad, and that's all we are asking. I know he did ball watch at times but I haven't seen it for a while but I was disgusted at his attempt for the goal against Watford. Top class? What is top class. I'm not sure I rate any England player top class. They certainly are not performing at their clubs that way, except vardy. Players like Oxford should be invited to train with the England squad often with thought to the future. As for Tomkins being a regular for us who knows? As it stands I'd have him right back as he is more defensive than jenks, and he has had a better season so far than I can ever remember. Who's to say what's gonna happen? Injuries lack of form? ATM he has played more games than ogbonna and Reid and as England don't worry about if you play every week it shouldn't be an issue. And no before you ask I wouldn't play Tonka at right back for england
