i think the business side of footy rules here....keep tomks let ginge go for little or no money because of his age or do the reverse because of reece burke/oxford coming through I am thinking the manager and board made a decision and the player while not rocking the boat let slav no he was not happy warming the bench and slav is not one to keep unhappy players so I guess the deal works for both sides

I still think he is worth keeping onto - even if we get better CBs, he is a capable defender in for the cause and he put in a shift at emergency RB when needed and done a better job than everyone else except maybe Byram. But i can see the point of him not wanting to be on the bench

Payet stories a couple of weeks ago were all about him moving to one of the European giant clubs but last week were all about how happy he is and there being no sell on value at his age so no giant club would be interested at the likely price they'd have to pay. Now I see David Gold has dropped the circa 60 million to 45 million. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/685821/David-Gold-Dimitri-Payet-...

Doesnt make sense to cash in on Payet for a bit more pocket money to spend bringing in a big name striker... whos gonna deliver the killer ball at their feet or head? £45mil would be a snip for the likes of Real or Barca, but for us to retain his services given how crucial he is to us now and what he means to our club is priceless. I just hope his affection for our club and the way things have started to go right for him influences his decision to stay if the big clubs come calling

so we sell him get £45million and then what? everyone we go after to try and replace him(impossible)will cost at least another £10/15million on top of there normal price tag and worse still we fans will compare his replacement to the great man and will moan and groan when the flair skill ball control and seeming link to us the humble supporter is no longer there....guessing now they have mugged off fifty odd thousand season ticket holders for the next couple of seasons they really do not care.

Yea totally agree. The sooner they're both out the club the better. Btw do we know yet what shirt number Payet is wearing for Real Madrid next year, I might get one for my little 'un?

The most important thing about not letting Payet go is he will attract a better class of player regardless of the money we get for him! If you want to progress you need big names in a team to attract others! If Payet goes we have no other big names to attract top players! For once money is not the answer on this one.

Filthy porno kings. Just looking to cash in on all our best players so they can line their pockets. Then when the right time comes sell it to some Russian gangster and laugh at us all whilst our club crashes around us

"Major signing" before Friday has been suggested by a credible source. Either jack Sullivan or the insider on the official website. So what is major? If this turns out to be fletcher then I will doubt Sullivan more than I have before. Exwesthamemployee suggest it that Turkish winger. Yes I know his name but I'm not gonna say it as quite frankly I'm bored of the whole drawn out saga.

Seems to get on well with Payet too - was thinking he could put in a good word but he signed a new deal with Athletico not long ago... of course doesnt neccessarily rule a transfer out in football... but unlikely still! Not sure about Lacazette, if 42m is what they want thats way too much - agents have been bumping the price up... is he really that good? I had never heard of him before we were linked

I read of an agreement reached between West Ham and AC Milan 30 million euro for Carlos Bacca, but This latter wants to 6 million per season. very excessive demands

Rico Henry, West Ham going in for him from Walsall. Young kid to be cresswell said back up but could be far better if we shine him up properly. Source exwesthamemployee
