West Ham v Wolves quiz

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Fri, 08/01/2016 - 12:14

Just a bit of fun before the cup game. I'm sure it won't take you guys long to solve.

Question 1. Which ex wolves player has the same name as an ex hammer?

Question 2. Which wolves manager sold Matt Jarvis to West Ham?

Question 3. on the 5 th may 1990 West Ham beat wolves in a league home game who scored the goals

Question 4. in the 2004 fa cup a former hammers player played for wolves, who is he?

Question 5. in the same cup game 2 West Ham players named in the squad had the same surname, what were they called?

I know what you mean hammer and you are right! I did think of that before I posted but then took the risk, thought there maybe fun in just looking it up and reminding ourselves of the nostalgia on the downside if it's too easy and someone jumps on it far early than others it could be a non thread. As for the nostalgia side of it it might lead to other more interesting comments/threads. I agree it's a risk tho but as there is no prize and no one dies I'll take that risk in the hope itl creative spin offs that make me think " ah yes I'd forgotten about that" or " I wasn't aware of that"

Obviously I have looked them up and I can confirm Paul nice is the correct answer! It would be nice if people can just remember, but tbh it came as a surprise to me! I don't remember nice playing for wolves!

Hammer rather than clutter the thread with my own replies I will only post if guesses are correct. Roger Johnson is not correct. Answers on Monday

Correct Harry on question 2 and 4. Well done did you look it up? Thought the wolves manager was a sneaky one as it was such a short rein if I remember correctly

No not Robbie Keane, still question 1 and 5 to answer know people on here they could be kicking them selves! Thought question one would be the first to get answered! It's Not a player that played for both but 2 different players that had the same name at round the same time, probably played against each other! As for q5 it's a sneaky one.

Phil parkes is correct! Was tempted to say the both played in the same position. And yes the question 5 does relate to the game in q4. I feel guilty cause it's so sneaky

And the medal goes to Harry! The smart arse. Mark noble was sub as a youngster and David noble was also an unused sub. Maybe wrong but I think it was the same David noble who played for Exeter against Liverpool on Friday. I'm kinda glad they were all guessed but didn't get too easily as I assumed they would be googled! Chose the nobles as a question because I thought David's short career would be over looked, the wolves manager was picked cause I had forgotten he even existed and q1 was one I could never take in as a kid! Same name same position goalie! Doubt we ever sang there is only one Phil parkes, 2 Phil parkes maybe. Oh and I didn't even realise ince had played for wolves. Well done anyone who had a go

If the interest is there I will give it another go. i have got to work on the understanding people will google it, and try and make sure it's hard enough to last at least a couple of days. I will do another 5 on Friday for next weekend. Not sure itl be West Ham and Newcastle as that will be the current game. Or just West Ham questions. But hopefully itl refresh our memories of our history
