I think the writing was on the wall for this game and probably the rest of the season taking a nosedive, with the Sakho-Bilic fiasco, leaving a nasty after-taste.What a time for it to happen ,just before the most crucial game of the season, leaving our best striker in limbo.I'm not a Carroll knocker,I like the guy,but this game was ideal for Sakho and Valencia with their movement and pace.Instead we get a target man with no service and left high and dry for most of the game.Westham were second best for much of the game ,only the last 20 minutes or so did they begin to move up a gear.I don't know the full story behind the row, but surely Bilic should have not allowed his own pride to get in the way of the club'd interests at such a crunch time.I'm really annoyed with this situation, the way it has festered and blown our season out of the water......absolutely gutted,to say the least,I thought this was our year.

Either Antonio is having a problem adapting to the prem or he's a little over rated ,he has blinding pace but in my opinion his control at close ball encounters leave a lot to be desired

Burkie 1

Agree there Burkie. Don't want to slam the team for their under par performance, Manure were better on the night, but Enner had two very good chances to get on the score sheet and both efforts were hit with the power of a 10yr old. Coupled with the ease in which he's knocked off the ball and I think his time is done for us. Move him on and use the money wisely for a replacement.
also feel that Antonio's RB experiment has run it's course. He's done ok there, but is not a full back and is better utilised further up the pitch where is power and pace worry the opposing defenders.
We had our chances tonight but conceded two poor goals and only played to our forwards strengths in the last 20mins really. Gutted to be out, can't help but feel the Arsenal game took a bit too much out of us at this stage and Manure's much easier game on the weekend when they gave up after the 1st Spud goal went in aided them.
Anyway, the season is not a write off. We are still in the hunt for a European place and as long as Manc City don't win the CL it could be the big one.

Big let down last night. We sat back too much allowed Carrick and Fellaini and others too much space and paid the price. That coupled with keeping Antonio at RB was a bad decision. Our defence has been leaking goals of late and I cannot wait to see Ginge and Byram back. What was a huge game for us became a big disappointment. Manure had one less day to recover but looked far sharper than us. Sorry Bilic you got it wrong as much as I love the guy. Hopefully he can learn from this. I do fear if we play like that against Leicester we will get thumped. Carroll was starved of ball until the last quarter. Payet and Lanzini not allowed to play their game. Manure did their homework. Big test of our character to pick ourselves up but I think top 4 is hard to see but top 6 should be achievable (just). COYI.

Totally spot on ed. I don't mind being beaten if there is nothing you can do about it but as a manager there was plenty we could have done. That's what has got me right annoyed.

Me too Red It was obvious half way through the first half that things weren't right and required personnel and tactics to be changed and for some reason Bilic didn't do that.
