Hi fellow orgers, havent been on for a while but Ive been reading the daily posts and discussions, pleased so far with our progress this Season under Bilic. Anyway the reason for my question is that Im flying to New York on the 1st October taking my wife on her birthday present- a week in the big Apple.
She has never been to the USA and Ive never been to New York, so it was an easy 50th birthday treat for her to think of.
Anyway, as part of our weeks trip she is allowing me to take her to the Smithfield Hall to meet up with the New York City Hammers Supporters and watch the game live on Sat 3rd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know any of them yet, but talk to them on Facebook, and am so looking forward to it, for me an Essex born Hammer to watch our team on tv on the other side of the world with like minded people is amazing.
Some are expats and some are Americans, no matter where you are born it seems WHU will be there.
The 3pm kick off is 10 am there, so its an early up and out of our Williamsburg apartment, and straight onto a few pints of whatever local brew there is, then in the afternoon we gong up the Empire State building.......hopefully!
So, wherever you are on Sat watching the game, Ill raise a glass or 3 for Hammers everywhere, and if- nay ! when we win there will be a rendition of the Bubbles in NYC sung by a true born Essex Hammer.
Just a thought, are there any NYC Hammers on here, or have any of you already met them ?

Sounds like a great trip! You won't go hungry in America, those boys know how to eat! I'll be watching (internet provided!) from Spain, taking a break from the boring routine of beach-pool-beach... LOL

Suffolk sounds good to me, just a bit of advice, don't go up the Empire State Building AFTER the match you know what watching West Ham can be like! Especially away up t North

A week in the big apple is plenty of time some very cool places to go. One is a sleep easy called beauty in Essex make reservations the idea is you arrive through what looks like a pawn shop (not porn shop) like an old speak easy. Food and atmosphere great!!free Champagne area in woman's bathroom ..

Then go to a theatre called sleep no more. It's an old hotel converted into a three story immersive theater. You wear masks very eyes wide shut. And the actors are all around you trust me a great experience there is some nudity, don't want to spoil it... My wife and I hired one of the performers for our wedding to come and sing for us... Times Square is shit not like it used to be but has to be done... There are some good curry houses too near the garment district. If you can splash the cash a bit Sunday brunch at the Waldof. Amazing food all you can eat fresh lobster and mimosas (don't go before 11.30, there are restrictions on the sale of alcohol before noon on Sunday's). Twin towers memorial a great humbling experience .... Have a great time if you try any of the above let me know
