Thought I'd post this interview it's from the club website via You tube.
Hopefully this is ok with Louis? As it official club media.
It is an in depth interview by The Ginger Pele and his mate on Iron Cast (podcast). It gives a real insight into Potter and his beliefs. In a more casual away from the paps etc.
I found it really fascinating and hopefully, it will show the sceptics who he is?
Sorry
Had to switch off after 7 minutes. Same drivel, different manager
I didnt think So
you should have give it a bit more of a chance Deluded found it interesting how he fetched a team up from the 4th tier of the leauge in Sweden and ended up beating arsenal in the champions league as wellI know its Swedish Football and I know its only Arsenal but its still some achievement he also watched the kids play Manure Utd U-18s and talking about the great tackle the young Number 4 made, when was the last time we had a manager take an interest like that in the academy Harry Rednapp perhaps certainly not Floppy Loppy
Yeah, maybe mate
He's hardly gonna slag off the club, fans or players but his opening waffle in those first seven minutes were so OTT it had me reaching for the sick bag
...
Bring back Lopetegui ...Dave?
Wonderful,good to listen to
Wonderful, good to listen to,an old school down to earth manager,we can all relate to and understand,he needs to be given time.........I bet the Spurs faithful,if they were honest, would prefer him than that gink postecoglue.
Farleys Postacoglu impression
Farleys Postacoglu impression has me pissing my pants everytime I see it. Just who we are mate, we're Spursy mate, you'll sleep with the Kangaroos mate!!
What a joke of a club they are!!!!!
Is he Lopetegui in disguise?
Is he Lopetegui in disguise? I think he’s a decent fella and the FA would love him as an England manager in the future because he’s never going to do or say anything that provokes, similarly to Southgate.
I’m not yet convinced he’s the right manager for West Ham though based on performances so far, should never be having a first half like that against a side like Brentford at home.
Palace and Brentford at home
Two performances that should never be seen again and whilst Potter has to take the blame for picking the players and setting them up i doubt he told them play it slow and square don't pass forward!.
For me those two home games are a hard lesson and a big eye opener for Potter and he needs to rectify that quickly and make sure certain players do not get on the pitch again.....And yes the rest of this season may just be a preseason for him to make plans on who he is keeping and letting go he cannot let this season drift by without trying to entertain the long suffering fans.
So Potter will get a must do better between now and the end of the season from me and next season be judged much more sternly once he has got the players that he wants in.
I think that’s an excuse, I
I think that’s an excuse, I think any new manager should have an instant impact on the players and how they perform, look at Moyes at Everton, an instant impact with a squad which isn’t comparable to West Ham’s, not that I’m a David Moyes fan, his West Ham career was at least a season too long
A side like that?
I think you're doing Brentford a bit of a disservice there mate. You honestly think we're better than them? They are a settled team with a squad costing a quarter of ours, with a settled and tactically astute manager and a club structure and scouting system that puts ours to shame.
I'm not a Potter fan either but I reckon even Pep or Jose would struggle with our set up.
Frank
He was almost sacked first 6 months after taking over. He's been given time and astute signings. Potter hasn't.
Give the guy a break. The season was lost thanks to lopetegui. He's trying to sort it out. Don't expect miracles after a couple months.
I think Thomas Frank would’ve
I think Thomas Frank would’ve been a decent choice to replace Lopetegui, I only say a side like that because with the players West Ham have they should be looking to beat Brentford at home, the difference is Brentford are a well managed side. I’ve seen a couple of decent halves from West Ham since Potter took over, I don’t see significant change to say he’s been a good choice, that performance yesterday was on the back of two weeks with the players
?
Why do people think frank would come to us?
Obviously because
We have a world class stadium and able to compete with the best in the transfer market.
Your avin a larf bike ,right
Your avin a larf bike ,right ,?our max signing on fee is 45 -50 mill to other clubs that's a minimum ,as for our stadium ???? ,well let's just say compared to Uppers ,there ain't no comparison, we must be the only club getting rent allowance.
Burkie i am not avin a larf
I am only repeating what our wonderful owner said when we left the Boleyn and he wouldn't lie now would he?
https://youtu.be/1_9UIqBd_eU?si=64iUSy6N18CN2GhK
But we have an utterly
But we have an utterly clueless owner to pour water on any positives
Surely West Ham have more
Surely West Ham have more potential than Brentford???
?
Why?
Bigger stadium, more spending
Bigger stadium, more spending power, recently won a European trophy, if they ever get the right manager then I’d say there’s a lot of potential for improvement
.
Personally I think sometimes we flatter ourselves. Brentford are well run, established prem side with a recruitment mill that works wonders.
Trying to sell the club to someone like Frank on the mere basis of a bigger stadium n euro trophy I don't think so. He'd just think a bigger club would be on horizon if he were interested in moving
Get what you’re saying,
Get what you’re saying, Brentford are a well run side but I would say there’s more chance of getting West Ham in a European place than there is Brentford, there are lots of well run clubs, but they all have limitations and I think most managers would see West Ham as a better option for progress than Brentford
I think we all need to take a deep breath
This was never going to be a quick fix with what went on beforehand and sadly with the owner constantly making rash decisions and then being stubborn when it is clear he should of listened to the advice that was available to him i am afraid this problem will not go away.
Mr Potter has to be given time and as much pain as it is causing i would rather see him evaluate the players properly as in game time and then make the big decisions that are clearly going to have to be made if we are ever to progress and this is going to be a big summer for us and one we have to get right otherwise we could easily find ourselves circling the trapdoor to the Championship and most likely dropping through it. This season we will JUST have enough to avoid that but only just.
One win in six
And your saying Potter has to be given time. Well five of our remaining thirteen games are what could be termed as six pointers so its probably safe to say that time is not a luxury on Potters side. Not saying it's Potters fault we're in this mess by a long chalk but for all the bluster that's coming from him in his press releases we're not seeing much of an improvement or points on board, unlike Moyes at Everton. March the 15th is gonna be fun day out.
