I have read elsewhere people questioning whether this would be enough to attract a 'Top' manager and it made me question it myself. Apart from the obvious clubs at the very top with very deep pockets and huge international backing, the spend amongst the rest for last season didn't get anywhere near the £25m per club that we are offering. The biggest issue for any 'Top' manager is that of Champions league football as surely, like most 'Top' players, they should aspire to be the best and win the biggest trophies? So although we would all love to see a 'Top' manager to take on our clubs exciting future with much bigger crowds and revenues/investment (which will come), I just can't see it happening. Klopp would be my choice of the 'Top' managers that I think would embrace such an opportunity and make it a success, and he would have a fantastic rapport with the fans. Ancelotti has also been mentioned but his salary level is over double of our previous manager and his expectations would be for Champions League football. The question is 'are there any Champions League clubs looking for a manager?', if there isn't then he may look for a different challenge. What I think will happen is that we won't get any of the 'Top' managers as we can't offer them what they want. What I dread is the potential appointment of Billic, his managerial career of club football has consisted of 3 clubs and 2 of those were for only for one season each and the other club for two seasons. In 2012 he stated that he wanted to be the Spurs manager after Harry and now he is apparently championing to be our manager. To me he is a mercenary without enough management experience at club level, and we would only be appointing him for being an ex-player, which is not the right reason. He showed us no loyalty in leaving us for Everton for more money after only a year or so, and he doesn't have a good record at club level so why is he in the frame and why do people think he will cut it in the Premier League at West Ham? I just don't get it so please can anyone provide a brighter picture???
Bilic ok by me!
After the last four years, Slaven Bilic is ok by me, he may lack experience but Croatia played a good style of football under his management and so have Besitkas the last 2 years. To me all managers on our list are mercenaries as the other 3 as ANTKB states will not come here but go elsewhere where the money/Champions League is or the highest bidder for their services.

Every manager is in it for their own glory and success whoever we get. Lets hope he wants to be here to build a legacy.

I just wonder how long we may have to wait to appoint our new manager as anyone worthy enough will be weighing up other options - most notably from bigger Champ League clubs. Ancelotti would never come and Klop could well consider us but will have the pick of most top clubs around Europe so would he really turn them down for us?
I wanted Benitez and rumour is we had a deal agreed in principal but of course another bigger fish (maybe the biggest of them all in Real Madrid) came calling. I think Bilic is desperate to join but would have done so had the owners wanted him as first choice. I don't think they rate him all that highly and neither do I. His record at club management, as you state, is poor and he has never really stayed too long at a club and seems to leave on pretty bad terms too.
My preference would be for Emery or Bielsa who are experienced at club level and achieved great success on the continent. They don't have the Prem experience but not many on the short list do. Both manages play a better style of football and focus teams on fitness, but I am not sure whether they have bigger clubs sniffing round them too. I also think the language barrier might not suit our owners style of manager either but you never know. As much as he has ruled himself out I still think Moyes is on the radar and could be another option.
Whatever, the outcome I think we may have a long wait and might not end up with a manager much better than the one who has left.

I've thought the same in all honesty mate but a slightly different take on the situation, we have a squad which is too small for a decent premiership finish let alone thinking about playing the added European games and a budget of £25 million won't solve that, for that reason I don't see any of the big name managers joining, why would they when they'll be offered much more attractive jobs abroad, Mr Sullivan and Mr Gold are bigging up the club too much IMO, we're a mid table outfit, any improvement on that will take much more investment, with this in mind I think Bilic will be as good as we'll hope to get, my concern is that he'll get fed up with the wait and other managers being linked with the club and take something else and then what are we left with, the likes of MaClaren!
Another thing that slightly concerns me is that for every success story like Koeman last season there's a AVB, a Ramos, a Pepe Mel, the odds of success aren't great

I posted elsewhere that it's too much of a risk to their reputations for the So called 'Top' mangers. We are likely to end up with Bilic. He had a 52% win rate with besiktas as opposed to allardyces 37% with us. So an improvement on Allardyce but not the 'Messiah' the owners may be dreaming of.

There are no guarantees in football, even a Benitez or an Ancelotti could fail and relegate us. It's not wrong to investigate the possibility of getting in a 'top' man, but we have to be realistic.
Why dont we get a top manager
Managers are all mercineries just like the players everbody has their price so in the end obviously this will come into the equation, the contract, how many years etc. Any body Know if Emery can speak English? this could be very important, only Bilic speaks 8 languages and when it gets to a half time talk Bilic will be able to tell the player exactly what he wants. Or you could get a manager who cant even talk to the Media let alone his players. Bilic has always seemed an Inteligent man who has a good football brain time will tell

Seems a lot of money is being put on Emery yesterday and today (Betfair) and he is supposedly having talks with David Gold later on (next 48 hours). Cant see him wanting to come here (a good salary but £25m transfer kitty wont buy 5 or 6 decent players will it?) but would love it if we got him.

The budget is a lot more than the £25m being mentioned in the press, I was told that we will be spending a lot more if the right players are available and willing to join. If we can get the right manager with pulling power then things could be interesting next season by all accounts, so fingers crossed along with our arms COYI
