Villa and Newcastle do tell the world they are big clubs, trouble is its all hot air! Eventually you have to act like a big club on and off the field to back it up! The board need to act like a big club for both sides. Big clubs don't appoint small managers, they don't sell big players, they invest big money both on and off the field and try to evolve as a result. Both villa and castle epitomise SMALL club syndrome
Sort of feel sorry for the guy, given a tough task best players sold off and some poor signings tbh. O'Neill and Lambert let the rot set in and he is the one taking the fall.
Sherwood is the fall guy here easy to see that, he took a poor team over and they are not playing well, they sold a few gems and the players brought in are not cutting it.
But as usual the manager is the one to pay.
I hope he gets back into management because although i am no fan of anything to do with the spuds Sherwood has potential to be a solid English manager of which there are not too many ,
but turned it down because he is better than a championship manager..his words and oh how brighton must be hoping they come up now...chris hughton doing another marvellous job...he has more talent in his little finger than sherwood ever will....yes I know he has had problems memorably at Newcastle but who hasn't! jimmy Floyd hasselbank doing a sterling job at Burton he was apparently offered a job in the prem but turned it down saying he is not experienced enough compare his record to sherwoods playing and managing he is miles infront I personally hope we never hear from this prick again but he'll soon be on soccer am then motd and maybe even stellings soccer Saturday just touting around for a job because he has a lot to offer "but it has to be the right project" pfff project my boot up his arse the useless waste of space that he is!!! ok I must go take a blood pressure pill and lay down lol
Ditto, surely sherwood should be blamed for poor signings? And obviously villa were a poor side when he took over that's why the job came up in the first place.rarely does a manager take over a side that's good even more rare a manager would get such big job with next to no experience. Sherwoods abilities ATM are nothing more than a myth
and always will dislike Sherwood don't ask me to give you a reason but even when he was paying there was something about the man that got under my skin and so no I don't feel sorry for him its not the working man losing his job you don't get pay offs like these people do....good riddance to a useless muppet whose talent if it had been half the size of his ego may have kept villa up but who cares hope the bottom 3 stay as they are and all three clubs plummet through the leagues time for fresh blood

Nope. His only qualification was enthusiasm. God help whomever takes that job; they are going down.
I tipped them to go down last
I tipped them to go down last season, but sherry saved em but that was with Benteke & Delph, could be curtains this time round
Villa are like newcastle
Continually telling the world that they are big clubs, when in fact they are continuous under-achievers......

Sherwood should not have
Sherwood should not have started at the top level. He needs to drop a division or 2 and learn his trade.
he was offered the Brighton job
