Michail Antonio and Andy Carroll combined to create a 'come from behind' you 2-1 victory for Hammers against a Southampton visiting team that had recently tonked Premier League aspirants Arsenal. In the season of the pantomime Andy Carroll has been cast as the Villain, but when called from the bench following a pretty disastrous first half against the Saints, he put himself about with some level of aplomb, as did Antonio, who had been on the receiving end of some very negative fan comments! Full match review to follow, that is assuming that the bow fly over finally gets liberated! - Ed

Enter Lanzini and Carroll and what a change, with a couple more fit players this team has proved they can be a force. Antonio looked like a game breaker when he had decent players to help him and even though there was a lot of luck in his goal he was rewarded for being concistant and following it in. Great to see Carroll on the sheet again. For me Jenkinson is no where near the player he was last year and our captain is taking the Nolan role a bit to literal, as I said earlier I think once our injured players are all back I think he will struggle to get a game. Great to finally see a win so let's prey we can keep it up.

I completely disagree with you on Noble. Hes not been on the best form but today he was the only player in the first half who could string a pass together and 2nd half he was everywhere. Won the ball alot started alot of moves and was was charging forward t owin the ball in the last minutes. I think the hate he is getting is getting borderline ridiculous. Before anyone says its not that I have claret and blue specs on. I watch majority of our games and for for all the hate Noble has been getting I see rave reviews on song and Kouyate. Song going off helped kouyate and Noble greatly. Noble isnt the best player but hes becoming a major scapegoat recently which wins me uo because hes one of 4 players who come out with any credit over the last few games. Don't even get me started on how poor Zarate was aswell

Congrats to the lads! Well grinded result. With the half the first teamers injured we have have made maybe the most of two very hard months. Great game by the Ginger Pele kept us in during the first half, throwed himself at everything in his usual fashion, tried to organize the back four as much as possible. Would have given him a MOTM if it wasnt for Antonio. The kid is rough I give him that and is still adapting to the next level but boy doesnt he try. And we all love trier! Keep it up and Moses will find it hard to come back in the team. Puts a massive defensive shift as well. Should have scored after his great run but after 90 minutes of busting his socks I wasnt surprised that he skied it. Special mention to Tomka. Right back, left back he was solid gold. Well done to Nobes and Kouyate as well. Been taking some stick lately but after Song went (btw Song seems far of his game still, obviously needs more time but atmo he looks like Song from the second part of last season and that wasnt a pretty side) they returned to their usual shape in the middle and gave it all even if they are not at their best atmo. Great to see Carroll getting the winner as well. Jenko unfortunately though looks diabolical. Whatever the kid tries comes back biting him on the A*rse ala Jonathan Spector style. Overall 5 points from those 3 games is a good turnaround minding the fact that we are missing so many key players. Some fans should wake up. When you loose 4/5 players that usually start games it is bound to have an effect on any team in the league and we are not Man City or Arsenal yet. It also affects the confidence of the rest of the squad as we saw during the first half today and in the last couple of months as well.

The poor lad had more than his share of bad luck. But time heals all wounds: all I can remember now is that brilliant game he had against Manure in the snow.

They sayyou make your own luck. That kid must have run over a black cat 9 times as everything he tried turned to sh*t!

I agree with a lot of points on this thread. Ok I admit I haven't seen today's game but noble gets more stick than is necessary while others get away with murder because they are foreign? Kouyate has been poor for months and gets little stick. Antonio isn't the finished article but I'd much rather him in the side than Moses who has done nothing in far more games.. Couple of positives for me one is that cresswell has improved In The last couple of weeks and now less of a liability well done Aaron. And despite crippling injuries we haven't lost for 6 games! Unbeaten in six with half our first team out? I'll take that. This is the REAL time when we need to respect the point!

We sounded very poor and clearly lucky to go in only one down...pleased to see bilic made the changes quick and Zarate needed to come off he can be frustrating when trying to beat every player on the pitch instead of picking a pass...and by all accounts he had a very poor game....song well is he fit? don't no but as soon as lanzini and carroll introduced the second half was a lot better to listen to and it sounded like noble had a kick up the backside and started getting on the front foot more than sitting back.....and I am so happy for Antonio I cannot believe the nonsense being spouted about this lad by people he has had to wait for his chance and yes he is raw but I see a player growing into the role he has been given.
considering last Christmas(yeah the wham hits now playing in your head!)I think we can all be very happy with the results considering the injury list....so COYI I think 2016 can be very special for us.

to be a great player. With Lanzini and Carroll in the side, he really came into his own. Exactly what we need. I think Moses will have to compete for his place, which can only be a good thing.

I agree with you burkie,he is a powerhouse of a player ,I think playing through the middle will get the best from him,as he loves to go for goal in his runs .He really needs to be consistent in goalscoring or assists to force himself into the first 11 once everyone is fit.I suppose Moses is the player he is in direct competition with at present the way Bilic uses him out wide and I think he has proven over recent games that the potential is there,he just needs to be consistent.Zarate ,when he is on his game is a top player,he has skill, pace, eye for goal, but what holds him back is he lacks vision at times to use the ball wisely. He loves to go it alone too often, and it ends with him losing it, watching that happen repeatedly is doing him no favours.

I personally think he should get the right size boots or shorter laces as he seems to have trouble either keeping his feet or keeping hold of the ball.

Raw he might be, but he has to learn how to keep possession when terrorising defences. Without the ball he has no potency.

Glad to see both him and AC score albeit via a pass back. We had a much needed rub of the green and look like we could be a much fitter and healthier team in 2016.

Happy New Year to one and all...
To your health, wealth and happiness
