The only bubble that burst at the Boleyn during the two nil trouncing of Liverpool by West Ham United was Manuel Lanzini getting injured. Was the diminutive Argentine rushed back too soon? In the 38 minutes he was on the pitch he stroked the ball around with aplomb and hit the post with a wonderful swirling shot that had Minolet left for dead in the visitors goal. Early reports are that the injury is not serious, an initial scan is to be followed up by a second which will fully illustrate the extent of the injury For a while the cutting edge that Lanzini had brought to the table was missing, fortunately order was restored and the Boleyn faithful treated to a superb performance, the first time West Ham had beaten Liverpool with a five goal aggregate since 1932 and the first double since 1963, the fans were also rewarded as the match reached it's latter stages with nearly half an hour of the 'Dimitri Payet' show, alone worth every penny of the admission price and much much more!

I know this is going to sound crazy nev but Lanzini being injured might be a blessing in disguise, its a well known fact that Liverpool among many others are showing an enormous amount of interest in the young fella, fact is now he's off the radar ,big clubs dont buy injured players ,i know ,i know ,he is special and as arry said yesterday who ever was responsible for bringing himself and Payet to the club deserve great credit ,but the fact is we didn't fall apart without him yesterday ,in fact after some sustained pressure in the second half we asserted our authority on the game and came very near a third?and maybe fourth goal ,we have never been so strong in squad members and our worst injury crisis is comming to an end

Anyone see the tribute film made by bt sport about the memories from the Boleyn. Decent piece includes comments from frank Farrell, Alvin, dicksy, di Canio , Rio plus clips. A tribute before we move. Just the thing for any old gits. Sorry I don't have links guys but I saw it on the West Ham page on newsnow website

The real 'Chicken Run' was an old wooden stand (standing room only) on the east side of the pitch. It was surrounded by a similar sort of wire to that used on chicken runs and when you viewed it from the opposite side of the ground it looked just like a chicken run. It was knocked down and rebuilt in 1969

You know what burkie you could be right about lanzini being off the radar, come to think of it the initial news was that lanzini was only going to be missing for 1 game, but then gold updated could be 4 to 6 weeks, that could be just a smoke screen,to put off interest, but why are we hanging around the windows open get the kid signed asap!

I'm not to worried as we have shown this past month our strength in depth and how when our backs are to the wall we can now nullify teams (this has drawn criticism from some). It's great that now Carroll is finding his mojo and the team are playing to his strengths ,and the cameo by Payet is a real boost going into 2016. Can Sakho and Carroll play together...I think if Payet keeps playing his sublime through balls (for Sakho) and Noble and Cresswell keep supplying pin point crosses (Carroll) then the future is very bright.

But as mentioned above we now have strength in depth,Carroll & Antonio up front-how on earth did it happen?but it could be an amazing pairing.Imo 2 up front is the way forward anyway!
