Ok with just the FA Cup game at Anfield to go this month, January has gifted us 7 points from our 5 league games. This is the 4th 7point haul month this season. (As an aside I tipped every game wrong back in June).
After the trip to Anfield we face 3 teams in the bottom 4 in Villa, Norwich and Sunderland and a trip to Southampton. Now I have us down for 3 wins and a loss from those 4 games but looking at the gap opening between the top 4 and the rest and the awful performances of Manure, Febrouary, on paper, offers us the best chance of securing a full points tally with the way we are playing.
Unfortunately our performances against the teams in the lower half of the table are in stark contrast to the teams in the top and with draws against Villa and Sunderland and Norwich and a win agast southampton (Tips from June for those 3 wins are against the teams we drew with).
What's everyones thoughts for Feb following our win at Anfield next week?
As they are games against the
As they are games against the lower teams we should get quite a few points add to it the West Ham factor, the Sam allardyce factor and the Charlie Austin factor, I've quickly added the equation up and I have come up with eeeeerrrr 2 points?
I can see us hammering the
I can see us hammering the Saints and losing the other three. LOL. But seriously I agree with you nine points should be a minimum as a target. We need to be putting the bottom half to the sword. Onward and upward I say.
Injury free
we should get the 9, however i must agree with you and that is we do not seem put in a good performance against the lower clubs. Lets hope the boss sorts that out like he has sorted most things, attitude of the players is great. Liverpool will be very hard but not impossible, wouldn't be fantastic if we did them 3 times COYI
Been thinking about this too.
I know we started poorly against teams in the bottom half, and as recently as Newcastle we proved again that we are not as thorough a side as we should be. But I think we SHOULD beat Villa and Sunderland at home, and Norwich away. The most interesting fixture of the lot is Southampton away. The Saints have blown hot and cold. They're in a good patch of form right now with 3 straight wins and 3 straight clean sheets, but who knows what they'll be like in two weeks' time. Their next match is Arsenal, who need to win to keep pace with (can't believe I'm saying this) LEICESTER, and who want revenge for the 4-0 shaming in the reverse fixture this season. We beat them at home, we can beat them away. But to be on the safe side I'll say 10 points in Feb. One of those matches is bound to have something go wrong in it.
It's impossible to predict
It's impossible to predict and on paper we should win them all but as we all know football is a funny old game and like all other teams we can have an off day. That said my prediction is we will win them all and beat the poo at anfield in the cup.
