Hammers Favourites Following Hard Fought Draw

OK it was not this season's third victory against Liverpool, but this hard fought FA Cup 4th round 0 - 0 draw at Anfield has surely put West Ham United in the driving seat to progress to the 5th round with the replay to be held under the floodlights at the Boleyn Ground in a tie that could well turn out to be revenge for the infamous 'Gerrard' and Scaloni 2006 FA Cup final. Forced in to changing both James Tomkins and the road runner that is Kouyate within the first half hour seriously compromised West Ham's options, but Slaven Billic guided his team to a creditable, if not so inspiring draw at Anfield. It is further testimony as to how far West Ham United have progressed that the pundits and book makers have Hammers as nailed on candidates to progress further in the competition. The impending availability of Manuel Lanzini, 'Daffy' Sakho and Andy Carroll mean that West Ham are serious contenders not only for a good cup run, but also a possible tilt at the champion' league 4th spot, currently occupied by Arsenal's inferior neighbours. - Ed

A solid enough performance, half chances mostly for both sides, although Randolf did exceptional and goal to keep out the Reds best chances. Should have had a penalty, defender double handling clearly but ref unsighted so can't complain. Clear favourites for the replay and with Liverppol having League Cup final, a couple of European games on top of their league fixtures will hopefully aid us. COYI

Certainly a penalty like a girl trying to catch a tennis ball! Sounds like nev has gone a bit looney toons? Anyone know hat happened to kouyate? Glad Randolph did well after our doubts earlier in the season.

against that team yesterday we should of bossed the midfield but once again song flatters to deceive....obiang doing the work of 2/3 once kouyate went off...payet stuck out wide and not able to get into the game at all(he's human after all)as for moses well thank god he is a loan that hopefully wont be made permanent Antonio clearly the better choice.....Valencia was anonymous a lot down to our inability to go forward and create anything.... bad day at the office maybe but against that Liverpool side we should of been much much better...injuries aside we have to do more.

A tad disapointed. As soon as I saw their line up I thought that it was ours for the taking. Payet was not at his best. Valencia and Moses were their usual frustrating selves. No real intention going forward and no real fluidity in midfield.
Top marks for Randolph and Joey ( it was good seeing him back )

I watched the game on TV in Florida and my friend was watching in England. We were texting during the game. Our agreed opinion was that it was not a great game and we have played a lot better. However our mindset that we should have won at Anfield considering results over the previous 52 years shows how our attitude as Hammers fans is changing and it is all down to Bilic and his team and the support of the Chairmen.Long may it continue.

Being the same number as Liverpool has its benefits then. If they were on their own they would have Shrewsbury at home and we would have got city away but being paired on the same ball their luck held. Has Rhodes left for Middlesbrough yet?
