With the poo and city progressing to the semi finals of their respective European competitions there is a possibility that both could end up winning the competition. If that were the case then even if we finish 4th we wont qualify for the champions league.my understanding is that we can only have 4 teams enter the champions league. So that will be Leicester , Spurs and probably arsenal plus one other. Champions league winners and Europa league winners automatically qualify so even 3rd place might not qualify. Or do I have this wrong ?

Although listening to all the "experts" on SKY etc. Leicester have already qualified for Champions league, yet they are currently only guarenteed of finishing no lower than fourth.
If Liverpool win it does not
If Liverpool win it does not effect the top 4, the place they would receive is an extra, But if City win the Champions league 4th then becomes a Europa League spot (unless city finish in the top 4)

Both competitions are far too
Both competitions are far too long and drawn out and it meant we had extra weeks to wait for the Man Utd cup replay (that worthless international break did not help either). I think the Europa Cup should be a straight knock out competition, the Champs league needs to be cut back in terms of teams (ie Champs only) maybe add a Euro Shield or something or reignite the ECWC. Far too many distractions.
I think 4th will be VERY difficult now
even if we win all our remaining fixtures. But 5th is very much a real possibility. And that would get us into the Europa league, which is probably about where we should be with the quality we have right now. We should look to do reasonably well in that competition, improve or steady our place in the league and for one win the FA cup or the League cup.

I said at the start of the season the team was a top six side and stick to it. Wondering if bilic is imploding ATM. So I expect a defeat looking at our team. If so we won't finish any higher than we are ATM. Baffled by bilic ATM. Almost shades of allardyce in that respect.

I fear teams have worked out how to beat us. They wait until the last few minutes of the game, then throw themselves to the ground in or close to the box knowing the referee will give a penalty!
Squads need to be so much bigger to play a season in Europe
at the same time as playing domestically that I can't see the point, yes great revenue for the club countered with bigger wage bills and a bigger budget to sign more players. Over the last decade or so we've been so lucky with injuries too, how can this end well?
