Ive just sern response from dave sullivan via twitter with more details about financial remuneration etc and it appears he has had plenty of financial reward if its true. I still think its poor that HR were sent to get rid of him and it would have bern a nice touch if their was more of a personal touch.
Doesn't sound like this has been handled correctly by the club.
Stone me, no sentiment in business is there?....40+ years service, a fantastic gift for spotting and nurturing talent, well liked man by all - Yep I agree Harry, should've been handled far more personally and with more sensitivity.
Bit classless stating how much Tony Carr has earned over the years too....Disappointing and unnecessary in my opinion.
Not for me Red.
If you want to talk publicly about private matters such as how much the man has earned from the club then no I think a £14k payoff is an insult (and yes I know he's had a testimonial etc) - £50m worth of players nurtured over his years plus a lifetime given up to WHUFC, I believe Tony Carr is worth more than mere (paltry) money the club have given him over 43 years for what he has given us in return.
He got a 14k pay off for a contract that was ending, sounds fine by me. If there gonna make such a bid deal and publish them figures then i see no reason why we shouldnt publish the financial details we did after.
He was offered a part time role and Tony Carr has had a testimonial which normally happens only to players. He opted not to take the part time role and he in my mind has not done too badly over the years compared to others.
We all wish it could have been done better but it seems our board have been guilty of doing this to a lot of our staff over the time Gold & Sullivan have been in charge plus a cetain Ms Bradey who reduced staff and salaries as soon as she was put in place!!!
No sentiment I'm afraid in business these days especially from West Ham United's Board.
Not too many football clubs have someone like Tony Carr Bondsy so it sticks in my throat at times the way the club operates...Maybe I'm too old school and appreciate loyalty and hard work above most things - Never mind!
It was shoddy the way it was done and not for the first time by our Board. Loyalty seems to be a thing of the past these days unfortunately!!! I hope Tony looks back on the good times he had and not the way he was treated on leaving.
