Citeh dropped the price in an attempt to offload him...now we no Sullivan likes him and if sakho stays as is now being rumoured then surely this would be a better deal than Bacca....
Yes I saw that mentioned if it's true Bony is an absolute Bargain at around £13/15 Million "imo" albeit unlike Ayew at Swansea no doubt he will be on Big Bucks currently at Man City !
Bony is a pretty good option for that price. I had hoped we would have a marquee signing in the ranks by now but the Bacca deal or no deal has gone on far too long and we should ahem Bacca off. I guess we have tried to get some stellar players but it seems they are not attracted to the club as they want Champions league football. Anybody think the club will be sold to a global consortium in a few years time?
Agreed, I'd just give up on Bacca. If he really wanted to play for us he would've signed by now, rather than stalling to see if a better offer comes along. I'd go all out for Bony - 13mill is nothing in today's market! Failing that I'd be happy to see us sign Mario Gomez. Yes he's 31, but he's a proven striker who's scored goals everywhere he's played. His age might be a concern but I reckon he's got 2 or 3 years left in him, seeing as his game doesn't rely heavily on pace - and he's availiable for 7mill!
without being rude I think we all need to get beyond on this "if he really wanted to play for us stuff". The guys at AC Milan, 31 and has one more significant move in him. Why would he not wait and see if something better than west Ham in the playoffs for Europa League comes along? I know we all would lose a right arm to play for West Ham, but the reality is there is a massive human element to transfers. This Bony is available for £x, so what? Just coz we could afford him doesn't mean he wants to pick his whole family up and play for us. he's at Man City, who play Champs League every year and pay ridiculous money!! Romance and football are dead, there are a couple of old school players out there but the for the majority it's about money and providing for their long retirement.
Loyalty is dead amongst most players in football. Bacca has probably never had an interest in anything to do with West Ham throughout his whole life let alone career, so you can't blame him for not being desperate to sign for us. Be a very good addition though
Where you been sunshine!? If he signed for us he'd make us a whole lot better. That's all I care about. Gone are the days of good old Carlton taking a pay cut. We're in a state of the art stadium and we need to fit the billing.
