Bruce Being Lined Up As Billic Successor?

West Ham United co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan are renowned for the loyalty they show to their managers, some would say too loyal, and so it comes as no surprise that they have released a 'statement' to disaffected fans with regards to the club's current dire situation NOT blaming Slaven Billic, the communique went on to highlight injuries and poor decisions as a reason for the disastrous start to the season which has seen a return of only three points from six games, relegation form to anyone not viewing the situation with claret & blue spectacles on!
Despite showing commendable loyalty to their manager, an aspect of the modern game that is now becoming extinct given the fiscal demands that are part and parcel of being in the Barclays Premier League, the Hammers hierarchy have subtly been in touch with ex - Hull City manager Steve Bruce who they know well from when he managed Birmingham City whilst the club was under their ownership. Bruce, who resigned from being the manager of Hull due to the lack of investment in the team, had hinted that he was ready to 'hang up his boots' in order to spent more 'quality time' with his family, however the opportunity to manage West Ham United is the sort of option that would "get my juices going" and would reunite him with some 'old faces', sometimes it is better the devil you know than the devil you don't!
In the short term nothing radical is planned, but like all astute business people, those in control at West Ham United have to have a contingency plan in place should the current sequence of poor results continue unabated. The move to the London Stadium was always going to be difficult, but it seems the magnitude of the change had not been fully anticipated, especially the width of the pitch. The extra metreage is what opposing teams are exploiting when they visit, hitting teams on the break is what West Ham perfected last season, so it is rather ironic that the club has now fallen victim to what was once their successful template.
Of course any team devoid of Andy Carroll, Andre Agnew and Diafra Sakho would find scoring goals challenging and the hope is when the trio have returned things will start looking up, add the returning Aaron Cresswell when he has reached fitness and the future could and should be rosy, the only problem is the negative mind set that has crept insidiously throughout the team. Slaven Billic may have to make a few harsh decisions with regards to his team selections in the next few matches, there are certain players who need to be dropped, they know who they are, but does Slaven? Talk of his dismissal is a bit premature, but at the end of the day football is a results driven business, and the current poor run of results are unsustainable, something has to happen and quickly otherwise Slaven Billic will become the first managerial casualty from this season's top flight. - Ed

I don't know whats wrong. Bilic does not become a bad manager overnight. The games gone mad. Football is no longer a sport for all. It's a driven business with minimal loyalty shown. The team are dreadful that's clear. No confidence. I'm not buying the whole Stadium thing, these are professional players. The statement by our owners basically means they are becoming impatient. I'm a firm Bilic supporter, but he is looking like a broken man out there. I just don't get it. As for Steve Bruce, good Manager, nice guy, wouldn't be the end of the world. But not yet.................

Up yer arse, up yer arse, stick yer blue flag up yer arse!!

Bruce? Yeah right. If Bruce comes in then we know the Daves aren't serious about champions league. Read somewhere bilic looks haunted. Dead man walking? He certainly sounded it on five live. I believe your team plays in the image of its manager and he sounds beaten. Come on down gus hiddink, IF there no signs of improvement. Let's get a big tried and trusted manager both in Europe and the prem and stop talking about idiots like Bruce. Can't understand why hiddink wasn't considered last time.

it's leaking them in bucket-loads: 4, 4, 3 in the last 3 matches. Of course we compounded that by scoring nil the last time out. Please not Steve Bruce -- another dinosaur of ages gone by. He's Allardyce all over again. I don't see this negativity as being all Bilic's fault, but I do wonder what went on behind the scenes in between seasons.

We might just as well kept Sam if we are going to get Steve Bruce I think this is early days I did not go to the match this week but watched the match on Sky, did I hear that there was a baby Billic on Tuesday, Now if your partner was expecting a child where would your priorities lie ?Beating the mighty Accrinton Stanley I dont think so! West ham miss Tommo why we let him go I dont know but I 'll tell who else misses him Mark Noble he misses his old mate, the pair of them had a good understanding which he has to rebuild. At times we look like strangers blaming one another for not picking up the players they are supposed to mark I dont think it could hurt if they went off together some where else and had a couple of days away from football in the international break. I still think he could do with some help with the defense, Dicks or Collins experienced players that have seen these problems before, nothing new there, we had them when Sam first took over thats why he bought in Downes to help him. Stoke look they cant score, Sunderland are in the s*it once again. We got Cresswell and Carrol coming back in 2 weeks I think we owe Billic the benefit of the doubt to try and turn it around, if it dont work beetween 12 and 16 games then we should have a rethink but not yet its to early whats the badge say DONT PANIC and support WEST Ham. Not Brucie good game. Steve Bruce is not inspirational and wouldn't work. I know someone who has just become available though! Oh dear, surely not.

Heard this rumour about Bruce all around the ground on Sunday but happy that Allardyce has been sacked as England Boss because the idiots at the FA will put Bruce in charge of England and we wont have to worry about yet another one trick long ball pony coming to West Ham again
