I'm interested in opinions on here on a few questions I have. Firstly am I the only one thinking the reason we have yet to sign a player this window because the driscolls are waiting on the palace result? If so, does that mean bilic wilic will be sacked if we lose? Secondly, do we as a club need a couple of good old solid pros bought for the team? By that I don't mean crap cheap ones or old ones either, just solid pros that are no trouble get their heads down and just get on with it giving the team a consistent seven out of ten most weeks, but never more. When you look at the likes of Lanzini and Payet, maybe even feghouli they might indeed give you a ten out of ten performance but we never know what we are going to get, generally give you a five. And thirdly, we had trouble getting the marquees this summer, our first few choices were snapped up by the big boys but they never buy in January so maybe we might get more success if we targeted one top player in the January transfer window? As long as it's a good serious bid ala Everton.
they have
bid for Fonte so trying to look at our defence.....do not think bilic will be sacked after all the board have to take some of the blame for the summers transfer activity....couple of old pros mmm city sauna have a few lol (check the c4 documentary a very british brothel its hilarious)
Andros?
What about this Andros Townsend chappie, he seems the perfect fit. Could do with him.
I also believe
I also believe that Bilic will not be laid off, also because it would pose another problem, that of who to put in its place. To be honest we need a reinforcement for each department, you are doing a lot of talk, rejected offers, I think at the end of this transfer window will not arrive anyone. It almost seems that the company is looking for the big hit Low cost.
I'm starting to lose faith in
I'm starting to lose faith in the Driscoll bros, like you say everything is governed by low cost and my trust for them is deserting me, I no longer feel they true to what they are saying. As for bilic yes who do we go for if he gets sacked, but the cheapest way of improving us might be to change the manager to one more methodical in setting up the team. So if we can find the right man we won't need to make big desperate signings, as I believe this squad won't get sucked into relegation if it's organised well.
They took a massive gamble
They took a massive gamble and it looks like they've lost ,moving from uppers was a bad move it seems to me that the heart of this great club might be in need of a stent or a bypass or even a transplant because it is beginning to pack up ,if ,as they thought the club consolidated its position on a consistent basis then their stock would have quadrupled in a few short years ,what i'd like to know is when do the very wealthy think enough is enough, 2 or 3 bloody great houses in different countrys ,rollers as big as chieftain tanks ,private planes ,Jesus ,and now the Boylyn ground is in bits ,like a bomb has hit it ,so much history gone down the toilet and for what ?a stadium with out a soul and the west ham faithfull so far away from the pitch with no atmosphere and no feeling of belonging ,remember Green st before a match walking up from the tube ,that buzz in the tummy the crowds ,the the vendors the humor i often wonder what it would be like there on a Saturday afternoon now, lifeless as if it was all a really nice dream ,the smell of hot dogs ,a quick side step to avoid a pile of horse shit ,then coming out after the match,in the dark most properly, jam packed all the way down and the sound of choppers overhead ,having to walk what seemed like miles to join the Queue for the train ,if we won youd be in good form on the journey home ,get there bout 7 and straight in the shower and out the door for a few beverages ,all gone now due to greed of a small number at senior board level ,i dont know where this is going to end but if the worst happens and we go south i for one will never ever forgive them
Mate couple of things you've
Mate couple of things you've got to let this jumpers for goalposts nostalgia go, it's gone finished. If we were winning and / or playing well the atmosphere thing would be what it is a nonsense. We did t play at the OS when we lost 0-3 at west Brom. Also David Gold is 80. He doesn't need anymore house, helicopters, rolls royces. We were happy for them to cash flow our club when we went down to the tune of £36 million so why do we think it's all about the, taking money. You've fallen foul of the ITKs on here that smell a conspiracy. What they want is West Ham immortality, statues , stands named after them. Don confuse your own personal political views about wealth creators and these guys running a football club.
So why the move betty ? What
So why the move betty ? What possible motive could they have for it ? Dont tell me it was to make west ham a top four club and be in the frame for the champions league cos that aint goin to happen ,well not in our life times ,so as i sit here on my very own west ham sear that i bought for £50 ,do the math on that 34 thousand seats at £50 a pop , in my west ham tee shirt ,available in sizes s -xxl ,drinking my west ham coffee ,now in Tescos on buy 2 get 1 free ,out of my west ham mug ponderin the future for our club forgive me for feeling a small bit nostalgic and maybe it is a sign of us older fans trying to hold onto the past cos the past doesn't seem half as complicated as the future
Must admit I always think how
Must admit I always think how much money is enough for million and billionaires just greed and not necessary. I mean once you have got enough to do whatever you want, why do you need more? But that just my opinion as a whole not to do with football. As for the stadium being soulless maybe this crisis is what we need as a club? It's creating history for the new stadium, and it's typical West Ham. Plus if anyone is like me, I want bilic to succeed far more than I did a day ago! If there is a lot more of us then the atmosphere may change?
Im with you burkie on this...
Agree totally with both your posts,& especially the last paragraph...
BTW i have been to the new stadium a few times this season...
I thinks the Payet situation has
made it that we're better off with Bilic and not having a new manager. Getting shot of Payet clears out the problem of picking a player who has a guaranteed place in the starting line up but lacks commitment. The team can now be re-molded and two or three reliable pros can come in. We need to get a couple of strikers too and while we're at it a strong central defender. We were great last year but still leaky at the back so with the team not firing this season leaves me not surprised at all that we have games like last week where it seems we don't have a defense.
