Hammers take on Championship side Aston Villa in what will be a 'meaningful' encounter this evening, with newly acquired funds ahead of the new season the Villa faithful are far more optimistic about their club's plight than they were a few weeks ago, and in a strangely familiar way West Ham fans are looking forward to the coming season with renewed optimism. Both teams have benefited by a sense of purpose from their relative footballing hierarchies by seeing the possibility of positive forward progression albeit in different leagues, Aston Villa under their previous owner spent big but unwisely and are unfortunately now paying the price, West Ham United on the other hand spent big but managed to survive, but the club so nearly folowed their fellow Claret and Blues in to the abyss.

The above link should give you a live stream of the match, but be aware the last two streams were a disaster, this stream however might work because it is via Villa! and there owners know a thing or two about technology.
