An interesting report in the Metro stating the reason West Ham have offered cheaper season tickets for the New stadium is they really do think they might not be able to fill it when we move there! The report commends SUGO for doing it but suggests there is an ulterior motive, sighting Arsenals move to the Emerites and then raising prices due to a huge waiting list! We don't have a waiting list and our current football is not that attractive under Allardyce as the Metro reports, so SUGO have reduced prices!
I can see their reasoning but welcome the reductions, I just hope we have a new manager and are playing attractive football then we will fill it regardless !!!
My feelings also
I remember getting an email from the club a while back asking one question: When we move to the new stadium how many more seats do you think you would want for friends and family? No mention that the prices will be less, the same or more? I then read on the clubs Q&A that prices for the new stadium would be in line with current prices so why now have they decided to reduce the prices? I went to the stadium on the day that additional seats for existing ticket holders went on sale and although early doors there was a long que, by the time I arrived around lunchtime there was me and 4 other people! Lots of seats were still available so i think 'Plan B' was decided upon to reduce ticket prices for next year.
They have to play it safe as it's a big
Stadium to fill . But if we get a new manger plus good football they will pack it out , then as the seasons pass the prices will go up and up each season.
Personally anything that is
Personally anything that is given back to the loyal fans is a plus, I am an Academy member and have been for a while and travel to as many games as time and money will allow (not cheap when you live in Scotland) most trips are to away games only managed 1 home game this year but been to Sunderland , Burnley and Citeh and will be heading to Newcastle for the season finale, a bit disappointed only to have made 1 home game this term but will try and see a couple next year plus some away games (mainly northern sides due to distance) I hope we Academy members also get a few extra discounted matches at the OS as I am really looking forward to that.
Me too plaistow!
Academy member too,as i have to work a lot of saturdays.Werent many cheaper tickets this season (swansea & leicester were good deals) but that was about it.It works out well for my son & daughter 18 & 20 years respectively, half price admission for them on every game so its worth having. They will have to do discounted deals at the O.S imo...
