I know a lot has been said about why we do not get any penalties but I just wonder if it's down to the referee's just being fed up with our loud mouth captain constantly challenging their every decision? Have any of you heard Nolan spouting off? I have and it's not very pleasant! Thoughts! we have only had one awarded this season and Noble missed!
I know what you mean, Bondsy.
I know what you mean, Bondsy. I could never be a ref with the abuse they get all the time, I swear to God I'd deck somebody who spoke to me that way! But most teams have a "ref abuser" like Nolan, so don't think it's that. We just don't have any players who dribble into the box, Sam loves his crosses so the wingers and full backs seldom get as far as the box, and our 'attacking" philosophy under him doesn't allow for our other players to get in the position to get hacked down in the penalty area either -- not much any way.
I think it's just down to p#
I think it's just down to p##s poor refs this season.
Seen a lot of games this
Seen a lot of games this season where we could have had a penalty, Sunderland away we had a poor penalty against us yet had a clear shout turned down, Nolan for me does his job as Captain and last season at Stoke he and Carroll went their dinger when we had not one but two clear claims turned down. Maybe as Sam said after the Spurs game he should tell the players to go down easily, all I can add is our players are less likely to cheat and it has cost us.
Blame
I agree that refs are fed up, and more to the point, so are WE about diving players.
Much as I don't like Nolan, Terry is the world's worst, closely followed by Rooney. All of the top four or five clubs get the decisions anyway.
What happened to the rule where only the captain and the player involved, could approach the referee.
Mind you....that incudes all three !
If the ref booked every player who surrounded him, it would soon stop.
That's two pens now this
That's two pens now this season.
The same as last year.
One nil win and we are clear
One nil win and we are clear of relegation........ happy days.
