Toxic Arnie Departs-DeJa Vu For Fans

West Ham United have officially confirmed want away striker Marko Arnautovic has left the club, the £22.5 Million received from Shanghai SIPG will be re-invested towards the purchase of Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo. The final sale price is well short of the rumoured £35 Million offer that was made back in January, but the destabilising effect the offer had rolled on to such an extent that, despite signing a contract extension on improved terms, the club felt that the player was going to have a very poor influence on the rest of the squad, and were therefore prepared to write off the losses in order to get rid of the Austrian's toxicity.

Some fans are feeling deja vu with regards to the Arnautovic situation comparing it with when Dimitri Payet forced his move away from the London Stadium, however it should be remembered that Payet's move was to go back to his former club on reduced wages, whilst handing West Ham an £11 Million profit! It is also worth remembering that Payet is now available for £6 Million, probably the same amount of money that Arnautovic will be worth when he eventually quits China, he'll be so rich he will be able to buy himself!

The only other player to 'disgrace' himself to such an extent was Paul Ince, although in his defence he was a very young man when he made his faux pas, and yet again the club made a fiscal profit from the deal. We ran are running a Poll regarding the 'sins' of the three, Arnautovic, Payet and Ince, so far 'Sulkauvic is the clear leader with Ince a distant second, thus far no one has voted for Payet!

Arnautovic's departure could not have come at a better time, his negativity hasn't been allowed to 'pollute' the newly assembled squad in Switzerland who can now concentrate on preparing for the new season and welcoming their new team mates with a smile! - Ed

But now with Mitrovic signing a new deal with Fulham..Rondon off to China and Gomez yet to make a decision....for a club that said it wanted its transfer business done early its dragging on and what if Gomez decides nope i want to play for Valencia what then? welbeck/sturridge/Balotelli all available on a free but not Marquis enough for the driscolls....like i said before we will pay for putting all our eggs in one basket if they do not get there man.

Im glad he has gone, and I blame him for the way we got turned over by Wimbledon,as it was before that game all this crap started, and ruined a decent cup run.You are right Mac,all this time waiting for one man,we could still lose out,and then it will be a day out for Sullivan and Co to the nursing home,to check on the inpatients of Welbeck and the like, because that will be all that's left, could be a proper F Up this summer.

I feel that the board would not have got this sorted so quickly a couple of seasons ago, and the thirteen million loss saga that we made when we could have got 35 million for him, would have carried on and on into the end of the summer transfer window, rather like the Payet situation, with Marco Alltoxavic causing all kinds of trouble in the camp in the pre-season friendlies especially in Austria. It is worth taking this loss just to get rid of him, but it still must have been a difficult decision for G&S. At least this way it frees up the money to go and get Marco Gomez and if we get rid of Chico then job done, might even be a double deal with Florentina, with Obiang thrown in as well, that would free up even more money for Silva or Bellotti then Happy days- an exciting season to look forward to, even dare I say it with Europe on the horizon.
I don't think Huesillyarse could make the move for Gomez until Aautovic had been kicked out, otherwise we could have ended up with him still on our books, still don't see how we can pay all this money up front though, Perhaps David Sullivan is deferring his 45 million loan to next season.

Good news he was like a disease around the club. Good it's done relatively early. It's a shame we cant find an under the radar front man maybe from the Championship, who is a surprise hit with the fans and knows where the onion bag is. I'm not convinced about Gomez attitude. I fear he will use us as a stepping stone to a top 4 club within a season....
