I think for a few seasons now our problem has been we have no shape or identity. the changing of managers and players has left us always looking like a bunch of 'thrown together' players every game. looking even at the likes of Brentford, Leeds, wolves, burnley, Sheffield u its clear to see what their 'style' is and how they are going to go about playing. the players know the system, theres no major changes from game to game just a tweak.

its high time we sorted this out with our club. I started to see a settled system towards the end of last season with Antonio up, Bowen and Fornals wide and then the three across the middle. it gives consistency and you can then look to buy players to improve in certain areas. I honestly think Pelle had no idea what he wanted to play or who to play it. he just sent his chum out and said spend money on some attacking players, then threw them together.

I think this is a hallmark of clubs with managers who change a lot. Moyes may not be all of our favourite but lets try and give him time, not a few months but seasons to implement a system and stick with it.

Certainly, after keeping us up twice he deserves his job this season, it will be interesting to see what happens in the market because I think he will buy players for the positions i.e I think Cresswell and Masawku days are limited for the left-back position and this position needs strengthing Moyes has already identified players for this spot. On the other hand Pellegrini Would buy someone like Ryan Fraser and shoehorn him into a position that the player is not comfortable with like he did with Haller because he isa marquee player, (As Sullivan puts it). Moyes has certainly got the experience and is always telling us he is a football man- so here is his chance to show us what he can do

Your right,it has been all over the place, how we havent gone down is surprising. The changing of managers has not helped, too many getting involved
shows no consistency or stability. We need to stick with Moyes,as you say for a few seasons,to settle the system,or else we will continue as we have.He got it right in the run, lets just hope he can continue with this into next season.

Moyes doe’s deserve a chance ,and lower league players need to be bought along with our youngsters,Wilson,Eke,should be bought for a start, also Cash (not money) from forest.

Granted the delayed run in was smashing and lovely football into the bargain ,imo it was all about two players suporting Ant ,a player whos only now realizing his own potential ,he could be the 20 goal player we've been seeking ,to me next season will tell a story about Moyes ,whether we will struggle or finish mid table ,if we do end the season mid way it should be a solid base to try and get our mitts on some silver ware ,that must be our priority after 40 years of going up and down like a fiddlers elbow

Well it's the last season for nobes to get some silverware, how fitting that would be for him, since beating the arse in 80 they have won the F.A cup 9 times, and a record 14,and our club store is still living of the back of something we won 4 decades ago ,now that's criminal ;)

MAN U then West Ham both got rid of Moyes after less than a year. Into the wilderness then back again to West Ham and poor results as he still in my mind did not know his players until the restart and even then we still struggled the first two games. Does he know them now? I hope so because he is here for at least one more year. We as fans know the faults and the players who are not up to it and its poor defence. Fredricks and Cresswell the two main culprits, unable to track back, mark their player or stop crosses coming in, Cresswell slightly better than Fredricks but not much. Haller is bored as is Anderson and both not happy. Lanzini not back to his best since being injured.
He took time at Everton taking several years until they became a top six club or just outside the top six. I still dont like the long ball and taking lots of pressure before the counter attack giving away 60% possession but if he stays that is what we can expect but at least it will be some form of stability I suppose.

I'll admit we did not play too much of the long ball after the restart but we were playing it a lot before the lock down and only playing through the midfield on the counter attack. The football was better last six games but mainly against poor opposition. I think Moyes knows his players now and hopefully when the new season starts we will see West Ham with better shape, a better defence and more play as you say through the midfield.

The expectation from us fans for attacking football and silky players will always make the managers job difficult but I agree with Dicks that West ham started looking more like a team toward the end of the season especially the Covid restart .
I hope Moyes is given some money to bring in what he wants. I would love a few more like Bowen and Soucek or even tougher physical type players instead of players who need a team built around their wonderful skillful supposed ability, although a very decent player with skill and want would never go a miss, I am always worried about brilliant foreigners we have seen too many of them disappear .

This is still the guy with a shocking win rate from the man that told us when he rejoined he was a "winner". Not seen a lot of that particularly at home!

Antonio has been incredible up front but honestly speaking was there any one else he could use? I give you the two supporting players have e been brilliant, he takes the credit for Bowen, brought him in and Fornals for just persisting with what is obviously a good player. I think form after shut down is a lot down to Rice. I previously called him a centre back in midfield but the last few performances from this boy were world class.

This is West Ham and the old cynic in me just says two swallows dont make a summer... but I want to be proved wrong!
