Our contact that we have who works in the offices of BT Sport which are located next to West Ham's in The QE Park, have told us that the flurry of media activity surrounding impending West Ham transfers has subsided in the last 24 hours and is now unlikely to resurface until the very closing stages of the transfer window, Tuesday the 31st of August at 11 PM. The Jim 'brown nose' White deadline day Sky TV show is probably when and if any pending transfers are likely to come to fruition, such is the lot of a 'last dibs' club like West Ham.
It may be infuriating for fans searching for good news, but a bit of perspective has to be shown when looking at this very strange transfer window, few clubs, excluding the usual suspects, have been able to splash the cash unless they have sold valued players to finance their new acquisitions, or borrowed against future TV income and player sales.
As it stands, and of course things can change at the drop of a hat, David Moyes has managed to retain all of the key players who propelled the club into sixth heaven last season, Jesse Lingard is the obvious exception but Saïd Benrahma has stepped up to the plate in his absence for all of the pre-season.
Lingard might end up at the London Bowl, as might Duje Ćaleta-Car, Nikola Milenković and Kurt Zouma. Throw in Divok Origi, Mouctar Diakhaby and Nat Phillips into the mix and you have a whole load of mights and more than likely a whole load of NOT mights!
Of course the Irons squad is ridiculously light, but the club maybe more by luck than judgement has an astounding array of young players coming through the ranks, more so than at anytime since the days of Joe Cole and Michael Carrick when 'Arry Redknapp was manager and happy to use youth players.
So, to coin a phrase from the legend that is Darren Harry which succinctly describes the countdown to the transfer window closing "button up butter cups, it's going to be a bumpy ride". -Ed

This whole window has been a
This whole window has been a joke, embarrassing after having a great season.
If we end up with no one come the end of August, I wouldn't hold it against Moyes if he walked away from the job. I'm pretty sure his new contract didn't say you would get sfa to spend on signings.
GSB are nothing but a bunch of spivs & should be ashamed, back the manager or sell up to someone who will/can. All we hear is the same old bs every window, just waiting for the "We tried but........." to come out.
Club A will sell player X at £30m.... Sullivan offers £15m spread out over the next twenty years.
So
so true Essex
If we don't add players
If we don't add players sooner rather than later our season could be over before we have begun. We need a better start than last season. With a few additions we could consolidate our league place and have a good European run. Lets not wait until injuries strike and end up buying anyone for an inflated price.

Ive been watching this guy. He is like a new signing. I see him keepin Nobes out of the team.
I’m not all hat worried about the signings. They will come, they just won’t be big sums, they will be more astute… The Moyes way.
I'm hoping Nobes never has to
I'm hoping Nobes never has to play for us again...cameo roles accepted, like when we're 3 or 4 up every other week (forever the optimist)
Looking forward to seeing what CC has to offer in the EPL in coming weeks. Lets just hope we fare well on the injury front cos it looks like what we've got as a squad today ain't gonna change much in coming weeks.
