Head Spinning? Should Be Ahead Of Striker No:50

One by one Hammers transfer targets seem to be slipping through the club's hands as the transfer window enters it's last 11 days, but just like the limbs of lizards, geckos and iguanas, rumours about transfer targets simply grow again as soon as the old ones die!

Undeterred by what seems like a relentless stream of failures, fans hope beyond hope that something 'special' is going to happen, and something special surely will happen. The only problem being the definition of special, the circumstances of not having any money for transfers is special, but not in a good way, perhaps the term 'specially tragic' might be more apt?

Everyone knows that a great deal of the 'stuff' reported in the media is pure guff, including some of the information we publish! We do try to be accurate though, which is more than can be said for plenty of others who just add a name and throw in an 'interested in or linked with' West Ham title.

After all, the club is a sitting duck when it comes to observations regarding it's transfer activities. The club is broke, that's pretty obvious, and David Moyes likes to 'ponder' about his acquisitions, some say for far too long. However it is impossible to look at what other clubs are doing without asking what is going on?

Missing out on a player here and there is one thing, but being seemingly excluded from every decent deal is too much for most fans to take. There have been so many targets missed and supposed bids rejected it is enough to make your head spin, so news of yet another 'target' will probably be met with extreme scepticism.

Nevertheless, it is our task or duty to 'inform' viewers of tangible reports, so news of 'interest' in any players from the French Leagues is justifiable because, unlike clubs in the Barclays Premier League, French clubs have suffered a double financial whammy.

Not only have they lost all their match day and season ticket revenue from their assorted income streams, but their TV deal has been drastically reduced, in fact it has been slashed as a result of the failed Media Pro/Bein take over of TV rights from Canal Plus. Having been bounced in favour of Bein, by what they saw as greedy clubs, Canal insisted on renegotiating their broadcasting terms when the League 1 teams came back to them, tail between their legs, after the payments stalled and then ultimately failed from the Media Pro/Bein group.

Hammers may be broke, but with the exception of PSG French clubs are all brassic! Surely time for Moyes to swoop for a Gallic bargain? Reims' Boulaye Dia and Lille's Sven Botman are available and you never know, perhaps Moyes could sling a cheeky loan bid into PSG for Mauro Icardi? - LN

If no one noticed ..we are doing exceptionally well, we have a great team, great young players coming through, play great football … can we not be positive instead of looking for things to man about?

We finished 6th & are in the Europey, progress yes but this is the time for the clowns to show some ambition...we have a great team fortunately because someone had the foresight to buy,Benny,Bowen, souschef, coufal etc rather than the ridiculous signings of Le sulk & hot pants!!As people have mentioned 1 injury to Antonio, rice,in fact in any position, we have no back up,that needs to be addressed anyone can see that

Yes Brooking agree! But it's taken us years to get in this position & with a bit more depth to our very thin sqyad we can continue to consolidate and go forward.

Will bite us on the backside big time if we do not get a striker in....But i still think Moyes is holding on for Lingard and will do so until the window closes.....and then when the brown stuff hits the fan the club will implode with the board saying the money was there and Moyes saying nobody available who would improve the squad and fans blaming both one for dithering the others for the usual smoke and mirrors.....

One final question though if Antonio gets injured say monday night leaving us with no recognised striker just how many strikers who would improve the squad would the manager then find as the panic button is hit.

I think you could be right there Mac,about holding on for lingard, there dosent seem to be anything else coming forth, thats where any big money will go,at this stage of the window with only speculation,i cant see any big entrance now.

moyes will hold on till january to sign Lingard he will be a lot cheaper then and manure will be desperate to get him out with at least some transfer money, and lets not forget football clubs the world over are struggling to stay afloat at least we still have a good team also we have a descent clutch of youngsters coming through who need to be tried and tested
