Dear David

I would like to say that your decision to play Zouma last night was wrong on so many levels that i am now wondering about your ability to manage the club i support.

What happened had nothing to do with football but everything to do with morals and values your action last night to select him was like another kick in that poor cats direction and one in the proverbials for most if not all fans of our club and would probably have Zouma thinking ahh this will blow over i'm still the man.

A few years ago whilst managing Sunderland you made the comment about a female reporter deserving a "slap" even though your a woman. At the time you thought nothing was wrong in saying that but were forced into an apology as you clearly did not understand the gravity of your words and the impact they would have.

So onto your decision to play Zouma last night it does not matter how well he played or that we won what matters is the light this club was shown in and it shows what a horrible mentality there is when a football match has to take precedence over common human decency towards others and other creatures we share this world with shame on you David and shame on the club for letting you make that decision and further shame on the club for thinking this can remain an internal matter it cannot and will not be allowed.

I attended the game last night but once i was aware that Zouma had been picked to play i walked out and i am now considering not going anymore whilst that man remains at the club.

Well done HG sticking to your principles,we all know zouma was played for footballing reasons not for moral reasons & that is not good for a club that used to be held in high esteem,I believe the decision to play him was made from the top, which imo is no surprise!

Where were the West Ham morals taking the toxic Dicanio at a bargain rate from Sheffield Wednesday? Didnt see any high esteem on that occasion. We got a real world class player (mad as a march hare) for peanuts while SW took the moral high ground and this week lost at home in the Big Yorkshire Derby to Rotherham in the third league. Morals and Football shouldnt be in the same sentence.

What a brilliant succinct post HG. I 100% wholeheartedly agree. In my opinion the sooner Zouma gets sacked the better.

A complete and utter scumbag and a dick!!!

I think it was Alan Smith on Sky this morning who was saying that the decision was not Moyes to make. It is up to his employer, the club to suspend him for x number of games. Moyes job is to put the best team on the park from all those available. If the club had suspended him he would not have been available. Simple.
Let’s remember where the blame lies. Zouma is the guilty party here, not Moyes.

The board wimped out and let Moyes make the decision as it was a "footballing matter" and clearly it was not and Moyes should of not of gone anywhere near Zouma but he picked him Naively so and the upshot being the clubs name is now dragged through the mire when it should only of been Zouma and one of the clubs sponsors has already decided to pull out so now the pocket is affected maybe the board may begin to see the light but i wont be holding my breath.

Zouma has been an total idiot, agreed. I totally understand your anger but he is being punished. To advocate the taking away of someone's livelihood as a result is a stretch too far, and why should the club & supporters suffer because of it, if he's sacked it will cost us for sure. He's certainly not going to be doing it again and neither is any kid who looks up to him as a role model. So what would it achieve? He can only hold his hands up, apologise and donate to an animal charity, he can't turn back the clock. Also, If the reason for wanting him sacked is because of cruelty to animals then the supporters of that narrative better all be vegan or vegetarians to be consistent. To cry "sack him" whilst munching into a steak would be hypocritical. It's a fact animals raised for their meat mostly have an horrific life & death, why does that not count? Is it because it's not on social media? Doesn't make that cruelty any more palatable. This is a perfect example of media manipulation, a headline to get peoples heckles up. Billionaire Elon Musk tortures monkeys and he's made man of the year, don't hear anyone calling for his head do you? That's because the media haven't told them to do so (yet), ah but this Zouma thing is such a juicy story! I haven't seen the video, I'm totally against all animal cruelty and don't wish to see it but apparently the cats have now been removed and are in good health. COYI

As an animal lover, cannot condone Zoumas actions, but people please lets get some perspective here.

You cannot ban him, or anyone, from their job & livelihood, just because his actions (For which he has not been charged yet) don't sit with your sensibilities.
This mock outrage in the media is about media creating headlines/clicks/views, not about morality or even animal cruelty.

In the modern world (Including footballers) where some pretty shabby behaviours go unpunished, this social media outcry seems disproportionate ..... and Hammergirl, if you choose not to attend games on moral grounds, that is your choice not the fault of the club.

is good to have morals ,but there will always be someone to take your seat HG,don’t please shoot the messenger it was up to the board not the manager ,take care HG

For the record I am a real cat lover, never owned a dog, what Zouma did was outrageous but the club response was spot on, max fine etc etc. why should we bin him for another club just to march in and take such a top player for nothing?

Very easy to take the moral high ground but Footballers and Moral... do me a favour!

I was very sorry NOT to see him front up the plastic, paper clapping Leicester fans. Give it a few weeks and it will all blow over... todays head lines... tomorrows Chip wrapper... not unless that prat SOURness has anything to do with it!

Digging up the Moyes past comment about deserving a "slap" is not warranted in this case. it was a slip of the tongue that could VERY easily have been said to a male journo also.

"Gravity of your words and the impact they would have" They are first and foremost Sports people with limited education NOT politicians seeking votes.

Moyes is doing a good job, probably the best manager we have had in years so give the guy support and move on!
